Little Lives Charity Day
Every year, Manor Park aims to support 3 charities. This year, one of the charities that the School Council has chosen to support is ‘Little Lives UK’. ‘Little Lives’ supports disabled and disadvantaged children and young people to help them build stronger futures. To show our support for the care they offer, we are going to have a pyjama day on Friday 9th May 2025 for the children. As part of this special day, we ask the children to donate £1 to this worthy charity. Staff will have buckets to collect donations on the doors in the morning. You can also donate via Arbor.
Many thanks for your continuous support.

Make sure your child has a named bottle of water, they can refill these as often as they like. Apply a high factor sun cream to your child before they come to school (please do not send creams into school).

Manor Park is incredibly proud to share some fantastic news this week about one of our amazing children, Jack, and his incredible achievements at the recent Tennis Regional Competitions! This talented young player competed tirelessly over several days and achieved some truly outstanding results. Not only did they come 1st in the Redbridge 11U competition, but they also secured a brilliant 2nd place in the Redbridge 12U category and triumphed 1st place in both the Sutton 11U and 12U competitions! Adding to their impressive run, they also showed great teamwork, achieving 2nd place in two doubles competitions. And if that wasn't enough, they even ventured into the world of Racketlon for the first time at the National level, earning a fantastic 2nd place in the 12U category during the recent school break at the Parklangley club. All of this hard work and dedication means that this superstar player has qualified for the National Tennis Championships, which will be held in Frinton during the May half term. We all sent them our very best wishes for continued success!
Musical Maestro in Key Stage 2
We extend our warmest congratulations to Yuling, one of our talented pupils, on her fantastic achievement in piano.
Earlier this week, Yuling completed her Grade 5 examination and was awarded a distinction for her hard work and dedication. This is a wonderful accomplishment and a testament to her musical talent and commitment. We are incredibly proud of Yuling's success and the excellent example she sets for all our children.
Well done, Yuling!
Year 5 Sutton United Mascots Success!
Earlier this week, two of our Year 5 pupils, Peter and Bianca, had the distinct honour of representing our school as mascots for a recent Sutton United football match. This wonderful opportunity provided them with a unique and memorable experience. Both Peter and Bianca thoroughly enjoyed their day, embracing the excitement of being part of the match-day atmosphere. We were delighted to hear that they had so much fun participating in this special event. We extend our sincere congratulations to Peter and Bianca for their exemplary conduct and positive spirit throughout the day. Well done to you both for this fantastic achievement.
If you would like to feature your child's achievements in future newsletters, please email in to the school office with a photo!
Blooming Fun at RHS Wisley for Manor Park Pupils
Our pupils at Manor Park School had a truly wonderful day earlier this week during their visit to RHS Wisley! The morning was filled with excitement as they participated in a fascinating seed-planting workshop, getting their hands wonderfully muddy. Following this, the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful and diverse gardens, taking in the various sights and scents around them. During their natural art session, they used found materials to create unique masterpieces. It was a truly memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
Year 3's Roman Adventure at Painshill!
Earlier this week, our Year 3 children embarked on a fascinating journey back in time as they became Roaming Romans during their visit to the beautiful Painshill Park. The highlight of the morning was undoubtedly completing the Roman trail, where their keen eyes and problem-solving skills led them to recover the buried treasure! They were also captivated by the sparkling wonders of the Crystal Grotto. In an engaging workshop, the children gained incredible insights into the daily lives of people living in Roman times, bringing history vividly to life. After a busy morning of exploration, the children enjoyed a wonderful afternoon walk, following the scenic river path to once again marvel at the enchanting Crystal Grotto. It was a truly memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
Mini Beast Exploration in Reception This Week!
This week was buzzing with mini beast adventures across the school! Our Reception children got creative outdoors, constructing their very own intricate spider webs in the garden as part of their 'Creep and Crawl' topic. Meanwhile, the children in Jet class were busy developing their numeracy skills by crafting caterpillar number lines, carefully ordering the numbers from one to twenty. These hands-on activities beautifully complemented our whole-school focus on mini beasts, bringing learning to life in engaging and memorable ways. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and joy for learning amongst our young pupils. A truly fun and educational week for all involved!
Exploring the Heart of Demoncracy
This week brought an exciting opportunity for our older pupils in Years 4, 5, and 6! They were delighted to welcome Damien from Parliament UK Education, who led engaging and informative sessions on the fascinating world of democracy. Damien expertly explained how Parliament works and the journey a bill takes to become law. Our children were captivated as they learned about the different roles within Parliament and the importance of having their voices heard. It was a truly valuable experience that brought the workings of government to life for our young learners.
Year 1's Wonderful World of Rizzi!
This week, our talented Year 1 pupils embarked on a colourful journey into the vibrant world of artist James Rizzi. Inspired by his unique and joyful style, the children enthusiastically recreated their own Rizzi-esque masterpieces. Some chose to capture the energy of a complete cityscape, while others zoomed in to focus on the intricate details of a single building. Armed with bright crayons and rich oil pastels, they brought their drawings to life with an explosion of colour and playful patterns. It was a truly delightful and engaging artistic exploration for all involved!
LEGO Debugging Adventures in Year 5!
Year 5 pupils had a fantastic time earlier this week delving into the world of coding with LEGO Spike. The children enthusiastically engaged in activities that saw them building and programming LEGO buses. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to practice their problem-solving skills by debugging their programs. They worked collaboratively to get their creations to move precisely forwards and backwards. This hands-on experience brought the principles of programming to life in a fun and engaging way. We look forward to seeing their continued growth in computational thinking!
