BIBLE EXPLORERS WORKSHOP
Thursday 29th Jan 26
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Bible Explorers Workshop in school on Thursday, 29th January.
This workshop is designed to enrich our current RE curriculum, providing the children with a hands-on opportunity to explore and learn more about the stories and teachings of the Old and New Testaments.
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Friday 6th March 26
To support our learning on volcanoes, we have arranged a fantastic trip to the Natural History Museum for the Year 3 children in the Spring term. On this trip, the children will have the chance to explore the museum and watch an immersive show called “Emergency! Earthquakes and volcanoes!” This trip will cost £4.50 and payment should be made via Arbor/activities/trips by 01/03/26
This trip will take place on Friday 6th March 2026. We will be travelling there by public transport, leaving school at 9am and arriving back approximately at 4:30pm. Children should be collected from the main playground. The children should wear school uniform as usual, however as there will be some walking involved throughout the day, they will be allowed to wear trainers/comfortable shoes. They should also wear weather appropriate attire (i.e. raincoats if rain is forecast).
Lunch will be eaten at the venue. Please provide your child with a water bottle and packed lunch that they can take with them (no nuts, sweets or fizzy drinks please). We would highly recommend the children bring a small rucksack to carry their lunch and water bottle in. Please do not send your child with a large lunchbox or bag as they will have to carry it. If you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for the trip, then please contact the school office by 20/02/26.
We may also need some parent volunteers. If you are available on this date and would like to offer your help, please complete this form by 10/02/26 . We will then contact you to confirm your help.
We are very excited about this great opportunity for the children. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Year 3 Team
STONEAGE SLEEPOVER
Friday 7th November 25
We are excited to announce our upcoming Year 3 Stone Age Sleepover! This evening will be a prehistoric adventure for your child with them getting to immerse themselves in activities such as shelter building, scavenger hunts and much more.
The sleepover will take place on Friday 7th November 2025. On the day, we ask you to collect your child as normal at the end of the day. They will then need to return to school at 7pm in their pyjamas with the following:
a warm coat and appropriate footwear as some activities will be taking place outside
a spare blanket for shelter building
a torch
a pillow and a sleeping bag (or equivalent)
a mat to sleep on
a cuddly toy (if they wish)
toothbrush and toothpaste
Please do not provide snacks for your child as all food will be supplied, including a hot drink before bed and breakfast in the morning. There will also be no need to send a change of clothes as children will leave in their pyjamas when being collected.
Please complete this form by Friday 24th October to confirm your child’s participation in the trip. We also ask you to please make a payment of £3 on Arbor to help cover the costs of the sleepover.
Collection and Drop off Locations
Please drop off your child at the main office on Friday night at 7pm. Please collect your child at 8am on Saturday morning from the Year 1 steps. If you do not wish your child to stay, they can be collected at 10pm on Friday night from the main office.
If you have any questions, please email the school office or speak to your child’s class teacher at the end of the day.
Kind regards,
Year 3 Team
