Google Level 2 Training (Virtual)
Have you booked your place for Google Level 2 Training in the Spring term?

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain additional support in training for the Google Level 2 Exam. The training will consist of 2 sessions in total.

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) launched a new initiative in November 2021 to promote ‘Financial Education Guidance for Primary Schools in England’. It will act as the co-ordinator of the 10-year UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing, and IFA Magazine says it is “aimed at encouraging conversations about money in the classroom by setting out ten steps schools can take to boost the delivery of financial education.”

Cold Call Forensics: purpose; spirit; details

'I probably discuss cold calling more than any other teaching technique. I think this is because I feel it makes a very big difference when it has become the default questioning mode in a class and warrants detailed exploration. However, despite its power, teachers’ habits and inhibitions can often prevent them from deploying the technique effectively or consistently. Here I’m going to look at each of the five steps we use in Walkthrus to define cold calling, exploring the purpose, the spirit and the technical details of each one.'

'In the EEF’s recently updated Improving Literacy in KS2, “The Simple View of Writing” shows that writing poses a great challenge for the working memory.
A person’s working memory coordinates and handles the writing process at the moment of writing but, as we know, the working memory has a finite capacity and can easily become overwhelmed.'

ECT+1s from across LEO Academy Trust enjoyed taking part in a PD workshop this week focusing on the importance of subject & curriculum knowledge.

Google Level 1 Training
Staff from across the Trust enjoyed part two of the Google Level 1 training programme before half term. The session explored Google tools and provided participants with top tips for the Google Level 1 exam.
Participants developed their confidence to use: Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Groups.

On Thursday 10th and Wednesday 16th March, EdTech Demonstator are hosting a free, national online conference. With over 70 sessions on offer, you can configure both days to meet your needs.
Whether you want to maximise the impact of technology on effective teaching techniques or explore in detail how to develop a comprehensive digital strategy, there is an enormous breadth of topics available. The live sessions are delivered by the EdTech demonstrator schools and colleges who were selected by the Department for Education for their significant expertise and experience in the effective use of edtech.

Reading Zone Book Club
Join the ReadingZone Bookclub programme of free virtual author events each term. The bookclub is aimed at classrooms and libraries that are keen to develop a love of reading. Events for ages 5-11 years.
