ECT+1 Celebration and Presentation Event

Our second year ECTs joined together last week for our @LEOacademies 'Practitioner Inquiry Celebration & Presentation Event'. This was a great opportunity for our ECTs to share their project findings as part of the @CEL_IOE ECF Induction programme.

Take a look below for an overview of the wonderful presentations that were shared on the day.

Miss E Grant and Miss S White from @CFPSchool shared their @CEL_IOE @HCACP_TSHub practitioner inquiry which focused on developing pupils spelling skills.

What a wonderful presentation!

Miss Khan from @BrookfieldSM3 focused on different strategies to support pupils during maths lessons as part of her @CEL_IOE @HCACP_TSHub Practitioner Inquiry.

Lots of fantastic ideas shared with the other ECTs!

Miss Drury, Miss Holloway & Miss Donovan shared their @CEL_IOE practitioner inquiry which focused on the use of @texthelp OrbitNote.

It was fantastic to hear about all of the amazing ways that it is being used to support pupils:

Miss Alder from @CCIacademy shared her @CEL_IOE practitioner inquiry which focused on the effective use of tens frames in her EYFS class.

Lots of great ideas on how she now plans to further cascade her learning from this project with others.

Thanks for a great presentation!

Miss Fox, Mrs Madia & Miss Shallcross shared their findings today from their @CEL_IOE ECF practitioner inquiry, exploring ways to aid pupil engagement.

They focused on the following @WALKTHRUs_5 strategies:

Miss Shaw from @CCIacademy shared her @CEL_IOE practitioner inquiry which focused on the effective use of @TalesToolkit to support language development in EYFS.

It was amazing to be able to listen to recordings of pupils storytelling today!

Miss Coffaro from @cheamparkfarm focused on pre-teaching vocabulary to support pupils with EAL for her @CEL_IOE practitioner inquiry.

A wonderful opportunity to see the progress pupils made over the course of the project & to hear her recommendations for future practice.

Assistive Technology Sharing Effective Practice Event

Colleagues from the @ChallengePartnr SW London & Surrey Hub enjoyed finding out more about the effective use of assistive technology today as part of the Hub Programme of Events.

Thank you to @MrsShirley8 & @MrcTechteacher & @CFPSchool for leading this wonderful event!

By Mary Myatt

'Religious education is not part of the national curriculum and yet by law schools must teach it as part of a broad and balanced curriculum. That leads to the question, where do you get your RE curriculum from? As Adam Smith explains in Primary Huh, the answer is confusing.'

The Challenge of Editing Writing

By Alex Quigley

How do we teach pupils to better edit their writing? Every teacher knows this real issue for novice writers. Then I propose some manageable teaching strategies to chunk down the process and to help pupils do a better job (including unleashing their desire to edit one another’s writing!)
