Have you checked out Michael Rosen's YouTube channel? It's packed full of amazing poems and stories narrated by the acclaimed author. One of many amazing resources recommended on our Family Zone!
Following school closures, to support those looking for ways to educate and entertain children and keep them active, we are making school curriculum-linked resources available for home learning, with no registration.
Resources will cover English, Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing and Maths for Key Stage 1 (5-7 year-olds) and Key Stage 2 (7-11 year-olds), with fun activities to keep children active and learning at home. Resources are collected into 'packs' which might include one or more resources. PowerPoint may be required for some resources.
Further resources will be added to those below, including more maths, reading and writing challenges, so please do return for more.
These have been successfully used in thousands of primary schools and we are now making them available for families. Some resources have more detail and may require further support from parents, carers or teachers.
We'd also love you to get involved in our new Friday Family Challenges. Each week we will be releasing a new fun activity that you can work on together as a family.
Use this section of the site to access short films of the writers and illustrators who have been involved in the Power of Pictures project, in which their creative practices are brought to life.
These site-specific films have been devised in close collaboration with the writers and illustrators, and filmed in their workspace or studio so that teachers and pupils can learn more about each author, their books and their illustration and writing processes, to inspire children's own creative work.
The films form the centrepiece of the Power of Pictures website, and are designed to be used alongside the associated teaching sequences, which show teachers how to use books from all the featured artists throughout the primary age range to inspire children's independent creative writing.
We are creating free access to our products for a limited period of time, to help parents, children and schools during any isolation or school closures.
First News is a weekly newspaper aimed at 7 to 14-year-olds that aims to get kids talking about the news in an easy to understand and non-threatening way.
We cover issues which are relevant to children and which specifically affect them. Inside you’ll find a mix of world news and UK news, but also loads of fun stuff, such as entertainment, games, animals, sport and puzzles.
News is all around us and children pick up on news wherever they go. But not all news is bad and we passionately believe there are lots of positive stories out there. We love to cover the nice news too and celebrate what is good about the world.
Children and parents love the bright, colourful format and fascinating pictures that support the stories. The articles are just the right length to keep children’s attention. Plus it looks like a newspaper – this goes down really well with kids! And we’re independent!

There are so many different Blue Peter badges so we've made this page to show how you could get your hands on one! Can you collect them all?
When the coronavirus pandemic quarantine period began in Spring/Summer 2020, I realised that lots of people were going to find themselves at home with their children for several weeks/months looking for things to do. So I decided to post a draw-along video every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am GMT that parents could watch with their kids and, hopefully, make some nice pictures. Here they all are. Feel free to watch and share them with anybody and everybody. I’d love to see the results, so please send me your pictures on social media using the hashtag #DrawWithRob. I am @RobBiddulph on Twitter, @rbiddulph on Instagram and robbiddulphauthor on Facebook.
Oh, and please subscribe to my YouTube channel too.
