Training & Professional Development Distance Learning Opportunities Newsletter

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, we plan to support you by providing you with a range of training & professional development opportunities. Some will be internal training, led by LEO staff. Some will be external, led by colleagues in our partnerships or even with new partners. We hope that staff discover a new passion or develop existing skills during this surreal time.

Thank you to all LEO Staff

The past week has seen us face unimaginable challenges. The way in which you have all come together as a team to shape our response has been quite incredible. Amazing stories have developed across the Trust and your dedication has been overwhelmingly appreciated by pupils, parents, governors and trustees from LEO Academy Trust and beyond. Thank you so much to our entire staff team; you have all played your part. We will look back one day, with real pride at our response to this national crisis.

I hope you find our new weekly newsletters helpful and that they support both your own training needs at this time, while also allowing you to provide high quality online learning experiences for all our children. If there is anything we can do for you, please just let us know.

Thank you once again for all you have done and all you are continuing to do in such uncertain times,

Phillip Hedger

Guided mindfulness practices

Adrian Bethune, Healthy Body and Mind Leader, had to self-isolate two weeks ago. He didn't want the Y6s in his school to miss out on their mindfulness sessions, so he delivered them remotely. When the school shut, he recorded some of the practices they'd been learning and put them online so they could continue practising at home. There are 5 short guided meditations for you and your children to try out.
