This week has been productive, filled with a diverse range of activities that engaged our pupils across all year groups.
The week commenced with an exciting Maths Week, which officially began on Monday, June 23rd. Throughout the week, children participated in a variety of challenging and enjoyable mathematical adventures, designed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for numeracy in practical and creative ways.
On Tuesday, June 24th, our Year 5 pupils embarked on a highly anticipated historical trip to Hampton Court Festival. This immersive experience allowed them to explore the rich history of the Tudors firsthand, bringing their classroom learning to life amidst the grandeur of the palace. Owls Assembly also took place that day, providing a wonderful opportunity to showcase their learning and perform a song.
Mid week, Wednesday, June 25th, was dedicated to KS1 and LKS2 Sports Day. The morning saw our energetic Year 1 and Year 2 pupils showcase their athletic skills and sportsmanship in a series of fun races and activities. In the afternoon, it was the turn of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils, who also demonstrated impressive effort and teamwork. Both events were a fantastic display of our children's enthusiasm for physical activity and healthy competition.
To conclude the week, an important announcement was made on Friday, June 27th, as information regarding new class placements for the upcoming academic year was shared with all pupils. This is always an exciting time for the children as they prepare for new learning environments and meet their new teachers. More information below.
Looking ahead to next week, the forecast is for even higher temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. For these days only, pupils may come to school in their school PE kit if they wish. From Wednesday where the forecast is for cooler temperatures, we will revert back to full school uniform. We will review the forecast on Tuesday and notify you of any changes.
We were incredibly proud of our pupils' hard work, enthusiasm, and positive engagement this week!

Year 6 visited the Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon on Monday. The children learnt about the life of Buddha and monastic life, then they took part in a relaxed meditation session. A Buddhist monk answered lots of the children's inquisitive questions. The trip provided our Year 6 children with a great insight into Buddhism.
On Friday morning, Year 6 had a drama workshop about the key social issues facing young people today. The interactive session gave the children the opportunity to learn new skills and to improve their emotional resilience which will help them with the transition to secondary school.
