What a fantastically busy and active week it's been across the school! Children have been out and about, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm in a variety of events.

On Monday, our Year 2s demonstrated incredible energy and sportsmanship as they took part in an exciting athletics event.

On Tuesday, we were delighted to host visitors for a Maths TRG, with maths leads from other schools observing our engaging maths lessons in action. It was wonderful to see our children confidently sharing their learning. And a huge well done to the Penguins class who held their assembly this week!

The active theme continued throughout the week, with a group of our Year 3 and Year 4 children enjoying the Physifun festival at St Lawrence. We also had a group of Year 2s attend the All Stars Cricket, developing their skills and love for the game. Our maths in action was further highlighted by a visit from our Academy Committee Members, who were very impressed with what they saw and heard from the children.

It has been brought to our attention that a number of parents and carers are parking in the delivery bay entrance. This poses significant safety risks and hazards. The delivery bay is essential for deliveries and access, and parking there can obstruct traffic flow and create hazardous situations.

Additionally, we ask that parents and carers do not park on the double yellow lines. Parking on double yellow lines is illegal and can also obstruct traffic flow, creating unsafe conditions for pedestrians and other drivers.

Calling all Volunteers!
Hurst Park Primary Academy is looking for volunteers to enhance children's learning. Volunteers are highly valued and appreciated by children and staff. In the past, volunteers have helped children with reading and maintaining the Library. Volunteers must complete a comprehensive induction programme, including a DBS check, and adhere to our Safeguarding procedures. Volunteering hours are flexible. If you are interested in making a difference, please complete the Volunteer Registration form to apply. Please note that volunteers will not be placed in their child's class.

Amelie performed in her debut stage performance of Annie at the weekend at Surbiton Roundhouse Theatre. She played Molly and was so confident in saying her lines, dancing and singing solos alongside the rest of the cast. Her favourite song was 'It's a hard knock life' as she sang a solo. She also loved the dance when she had to boss the other orphans around when she was pretending to be Miss Hannigan!

2T really enjoyed sharing their baby photos this week as part of their PSHE learning. They discussed how they have changed since being babies, as well as more recent changes and deciding what they can do now compared with Reception and Year 1. They are also excited for the changes that will happen when they go into Year 3! The baby photos were very sweet and the children really enjoyed sharing stories with their peers about when they were babies.

They have focused on understanding and incorporating Egyptian-inspired patterns and symbols into their designs. Year 5 had a wonderful Compliment Afternoon recently, where Theo H baked a delicious class set of cookies for everyone! It was a fantastic afternoon, complete with Mufti, extra break time, toys, snacks, and a movie.
