Primary Science Subject Leader Training

Science Subject Leaders from @LEOacademies & @SuttonEdTrust are enjoying a fantastic PL session with @NaomiHiscock @SLondonSLP as part of the @ChallengePartnr SW London & Surrey Hub Programme of Events. A great opportunity to explore excellence in working scientifically!

LEO & SET Year 1 ECT Science Training 

ECTs from across Sutton Education Trust and LEO Academy Trust enjoyed a fantastic training session at Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy. This session provided ECTs with the oportunity to see science teachining in action across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

The Trouble with Transience

Sitting in the corners, trying to get a sense of what it’s like for the student next to me to follow the lesson discourse, engage, connect and learn…. I’m often reminded of my friend and colleague Oliver Caviglioli’s assertion that much if not all of cognitive load theory boils down to the problem of transience: information presented so fleetingly that’s hard to hold onto; our working memory can’t process it fast enough before it’s gone.
