CPD Spotlight

ECT+1 Training - Assessment and Feedback

ECT+1s from across LEO Academy Trust enjoyed their fifth training session of the academic year this week with Mrs A Carlile, LEO Director of Training and Professional Development

The training session focused on the importance of making productive use of assessment, what makes effective feedback and how to succeed with self and peer assessment.

Our ECT+1s also had the opportunity to see teaching and learning in action at Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy. They visited classrooms from Reception to Year 2. Thank you Cheam Park Farm for hosting the training day and for inviting us into your classrooms.

External CPD Opportunities

Primary Mastery Specialist Programme

Following the success of the previous seven cohorts of the Mastery Specialist Programme, the NCETM and Maths Hubs are now seeking to recruit an eighth cohort of expert primary school teachers to develop and work as Primary Mastery Specialists.

This document gives information about the programme and how teachers and their schools can apply to be involved.

The closing date for applications is 17:00 Friday 20 May 2022.

Supporting EAL Learners

In this session you will look at the research of the Bell Foundation and the EEF around learners with EAL and how we can support them. We will explore the differences between different learners’ starting points with English and how best to support them.

There will be an opportunity to explore methods for supporting learners with EAL and to discuss how this might translate in your own school or setting.
