YEAR 4 KEW GARDENS

Thursday 18th January 24

As part of our Spring 1 topic, ‘Vanishing Rainforest’, we have arranged a fantastic trip to Kew Gardens for the Year 4 children. On this trip, the children will have the chance to learn outside of the classroom, explore the gardens and take part in a 90 minute rainforest workshop.

This trip will take place on Thursday 18th January 2023. We will be travelling to and from Kew Gardens by coach, leaving school at 9:00am and arriving back at approximately 3:45pm. Children should be collected from the School Office. The children should wear school uniform, however, as there will be some walking involved throughout the day, they may wear trainers/comfortable shoes. Lunch will be eaten at the venue, we are now able to offer a free packed lunch to all children so if you would like us to arrange this please ensure this is completed on the form by Tuesday 9th January. The sandwich options are ham, cheese and turkey. If you choose to pack your child's lunch, please ensure they have lunch and a drink (no fizzy drinks) in a named small rucksack in which they can carry their lunch.

Please complete this form by Tuesday 9th January to confirm your child’s participation in the trip. We also need some parent volunteers for this trip. If you are available on this date and would like to offer your help, please indicate this on the form. We will then contact you to confirm your help.

We are very excited about this great opportunity for the children. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

YEAR 2 BROOKLANDS MUSEUM

Tuesday 6th February 24

To support our learning on the history of transport, we have arranged a fantastic trip to Brooklands Transport Museum for the Year 2 children next half term. On this trip, the children will have the chance to see different modes of transport from the past up close and take part in a workshop constructing their own vehicles.

We will be travelling there by coach, leaving school at 9:15am and arriving back in time for normal pick up arrangements. The children should wear school uniform as usual, however as there will be some walking involved throughout the day, they will be allowed to wear trainers/comfortable shoes. They should also wear weather appropriate coats.

Lunch will be eaten at the venue, you can either provide your child with a packed lunch or school can provide one.

Please indicate on the consent form your preference by Friday 26th January 24. If you miss this deadline you will need to provide your child with their own packed lunch for the trip.

We would highly recommend the children use a small rucksack. Please do not send your child with a large lunchbox or bag as they will have to carry it.

We may also need some parent volunteers. If you are available on this date and would like to offer your help, please indicate this on the form. We will then contact you to confirm your help.

We are very excited about this great opportunity for the children. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The cost of the Trip is £25.50 and needs to be paid by Thursday 1st February 24. Please log onto your child's Arbor account to  make payment under Activities/Trips.

YEAR 6 IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM TRIP

Thursday 8th February 24

As part of the children’s topic on ’World War II’, we have arranged a trip to The Imperial War Museum. On this trip we will experience the IWM London which tells the story of conflict from 1914 to the present day. School groups can choose to take part in a variety of learning sessions.

We will be leaving school at 8:30am and therefore would appreciate it if the children arrive at school promptly, by 8:15am at the latest. This will give us plenty of time to travel and spend as much time at the Museum as possible. To get there, we will take public transport and will return to Cheam Fields by 4:00pm

Lunch will be eaten at the venue, we are now able to offer a free packed lunch to all children so if you would like us to arrange this please ensure this is completed on the form by Monday 29th January. The sandwich options are ham, cheese and turkey. Please ensure your child brings a small rucksack with them to put their lunch in. If you choose to pack your child's own lunch, please ensure they have lunch and a drink (no fizzy drinks) in a named small rucksack in which they can carry their lunch.

Please complete this form by Monday 29th January to confirm your child’s participation in the trip.

As the trip will be taking place in February, it is vital that the children wear hats, scarves and gloves as well as appropriate wintry footwear. School uniforms should be worn as usual.
