Every Day Counts: Why School Attendance Matters
At Cheam Fields School, we believe that consistent attendance is crucial for your child's success and well-being. Here's why:
Benefits of good attendance:
Academic progress: Children with good attendance are more likely to achieve their full potential, build a strong foundation for future learning, and perform well in exams.
Social and emotional development: Being in school allows children to develop essential social skills, build friendships, and learn valuable life lessons through interaction with peers and teachers.
Confidence and self-esteem: Regular attendance fosters a sense of belonging, routine, and accomplishment, boosting children's confidence and self-esteem.
Future opportunities: Good attendance habits established in school translate to success in further education and the workplace.
What if my child has an ongoing medical condition?
If your child has a recurring medical condition that may require frequent absences, please contact the school to discuss how we can best support their learning and well-being.
Our commitment to attendance:
Cheam Fields School is dedicated to promoting excellent attendance. We work closely with families to address any barriers to attendance and provide support where needed.
Remember: Every day at school contributes to your child's growth and development. Let's work together to ensure they get the most out of their education.
Cheam Fields School has a clear policy for administering medication to students.
Safety is the priority: Trained staff administer medication according to prescribed instructions and keep detailed records.
Parent/carer involvement: A completed Medicine Consent Form and original medication container with clear labeling are required.
Prescribed medication only: Non-prescribed medication is generally not administered except in specific circumstances with parental consent.
Emergency medication: Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) are in place for students with conditions requiring emergency medication.
Cheam Fields School uses Arbor, a comprehensive school information system.
Here's how Arbor can help you:
Clubs and Activities: View and sign your child up for extracurricular clubs and activities.
Upcoming Trips: See information about school trips, including dates, costs.
Payments: Make secure online payments for school, trips and other items.
Attendance: Track your child's attendance records.
Medical and Dietary Needs: Ensure the school has the most up-to-date information about your child's medical conditions, allergies, and dietary requirements.
Consents: Provide and update consents for various activities, such as medical treatment, photography, and internet use.

Peace of mind: Knowing the school's routines and procedures provides parents and carers with peace of mind.

THANKS FROM CHILDRENS TRUST
On behalf of The Children’s Trust, I would like to wish you all warm season’s greetings and a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate.
We are so grateful that you took part in our Elf Fun fundraising initiative – we have already raised over £15,000 plus Gift Aid and none of this would have been possible without you and your elves .
We have had an incredible festive period here at The Children’s Trust, making the season magical for the children and families we support. The children have dazzled us with a sponsored Elf Fun challenge, school Christmas play and Christmas singalong, as well as having the opportunity to go on trips out with staff and family, decorate their homes, and of course, meet Father Christmas at our Winter Festival grotto.
Feel the magic of Christmas with our heartfelt message of thanks.
