Welcome Back!
We hope you all had a wonderful break and are ready for another exciting term.
I am pleased to share our Challenge Partner Quality Assurance Review Report with you all.
Before Easter, we welcomed a team of reviewers made up of a a expert Lead Reviewer and three other senior school leaders from schools across the county. This forms part of our continued school improvement work and was a useful experience to highlight the many strengths of Cheam Fields and areas we need to continue to develop.
Here are some of the highlights:
"Staff at Cheam Fields pursue a shared vision to provide an ambitious and inspiring curriculum to prepare pupils for the next stage of their education and for future life. The impact of this vision is clear in well-presented books demonstrating coherently planned and well sequenced learning across a range of curriculum areas. To embed digital skills, all pupils have access to technology to assist their learning and are provided with devices to use across the curriculum. Positive attitudes in all lessons also demonstrate pupils’ engagement in their learning, as do comments such as, ‘lessons at our school enable us to find out about the wider world. They are amazing!’"
"Teachers’ strong focus on personal development has led to pupils having a strong sense of pride in their school. As a Year 3 pupil stated, ‘I like the experience this school gives me. It helps me to learn about all sorts of things; fossils, food, and Neil Armstrong.’ A Year 2 pupil supported this positive view by commenting, ‘I love this school. I can talk to my teacher, and she will help me to be happy.’"

The aim is to empower parents, supporting them to help their children by developing an in-depth understanding of autism. Taking a positive approach, we will explore, share and discuss practical strategies to help develop communication skills, pre-empt and manage behaviour and gain confidence and resilience.
During the sessions, parents will be given the opportunity to make connections, gain support and feel less isolated.
Each course comprises of four x 1.5-hour sessions and will cover a range of topics.
