Last Friday all children in EYFS took part in a sponsored scoot! They had lots of fun and some of them even took part in the rain.
So far they have raised an amazing total of £975! We are excited to buy lots of new play resources for the classrooms.
Thank you so much to all our families for your generous donations. If you still have sponsor money please give this into your child’s class teacher.
Our Citizen Captains received this message and pictures in response to the letters they wrote to residents of Priory Court Care Home.
Priory Court residents would like to thank the children of Cheam Fields for writing some lovely letters and sending them to us.
The residents were very happy to read about what the children have learned about and to see their creativity.
The messages were very sweet and positive and put a smile on all our faces!
With all the current restrictions around meeting people outside of our households, we are aware that lots of children will not have been able to enjoy a birthday party in the usual way.
Today, every class had their first birthday celebration in their classroom. This involved music, games and badges being given to those who have had a birthday from September-November.
The next celebration will be on December 11th where we will celebrate with those who have a birthday in December.
This will continue all academic year with children who have a birthday in August receiving a badge as part of the July celebration.
Do you know someone who is thinking of applying for our Nursery or Reception for 2021 - it may even be you? We have not been able to hold our usual open days/tours and we appreciate this makes choosing a school a difficult decision for families who might not know how wonderful our school community is!
If you have a friend or neighbour who has shared with you that they may apply to us, please direct them to this page of our website where they can complete a form to register their interest in a Virtual Presentation followed by question and answer sessions.
These will be happening over the next few weeks.
As part of our Christmas celebrations we will be taking part in the Rudolph Run on Thursday 10th December 2020. The Rudolph Run is a charity event organised by St Raphael’s hospice in Sutton.
The children will receive reindeer antlers and a red nose to wear.
It would be great if each child could donate at least £1 - we have set up a Just Giving page to collect donations. Please click here to find the sponsorship page.
For more information regarding this charity event please click here.
Friday 11th December is Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch!
Children can wear their St Raphael’s antlers and nose on this day too if they wish.

Each week we put a brief synopsis of one of our Battle of the Books in the newsletter from a year group’s book list.
This week's book is Song of the Dolphin Boy by Elizabeth Laird and is from the Year 4 book list.
Finn has always been different, and in the tiny fishing village of Stromhead he sticks out like a sore thumb. Always told to keep away from the water, he's felt that something was missing until one day he dives in and finds that, swimming with the dolphins, he feels completely at home.
But his new friends are in danger of being injured by the rubbish that floats out into the water - and now a supermarket is going to release thousands of balloons that could drift out to sea and cause even more damage. Desperate to help the dolphins, Finn goes to the Lighthouse Crew, a group of kids who have always left Finn out. Will they be able to set aside their differences to save the dolphins? And what will Finn discover about his past along the way?
A moving adventure about the impact of plastic pollution on our seas, and the campaigning power of friendship from the award-winning Elizabeth Laird, illustrated by Peter Bailey.
The children need to remember to fill in a book review once they have read a book!
Sutton charities, Sutton council and health services have come together to explain what support is available for families this November, and throughout winter.

If you order books through Scholastic, your order can earn rewards points for our school. When you place an order with Scholastic for over £10, we will receive 20p for every £1 that you spend. Making the most of this is really simple - just add the books you would like to your shopping basket and when you checkout, you will be asked to enter the name of the school you would like to receive the rewards.
Every year we use the rewards we receive through Scholastic to buy new books for our class book corners, on Battle of the Books and on exciting new class texts! Due to current restrictions we will be unable to hold our annual book fair this year, but we would still be extremely grateful if you could support us online instead.

INGREDIENTS
500g vine-ripened cherry tomatoes
8 bacon rashers
1 large courgette, coarsely grated
420g can creamed corn
110g self-raising flour
METHOD
Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the tomatoes on the lined tray. Spray with olive oil spray. Season. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the tomatoes begin to collapse.

Combine the zucchini, corn and flour in a large bowl. Season.
Spray the frying pan with olive oil spray. Reduce heat to medium. Add four ¼-cup (60ml) portions of the zucchini mixture to pan. Cook for 2 minutes each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
