Thank you for all your generous donations to BBC Children in Need. As well as our Year 3 pupils making it onto the show on Friday night we have managed to raise £501!
Well done everyone!
As part of our partnership with St Raphael’s Hospice we would love the children to make Christmas Cards to send to the residents there (in a COVID safe way!)
The theme for the cards is ‘A Snowy Scene’.
Click here for some design ideas.
Please post your cards in the post box outside the Office by FRIDAY 4th DECEMBER 2020
The theme of this year's Anti-Bullying Week is 'United Against Bullying'.
Thank you to everyone who wore odd socks as part of Odd Sock Day on Monday.
If you would like to make a donation to the Anti-Bullying Alliance, please click here.
As part of our Christmas celebrations we will be taking part in the Rudolph Run on Thursday 10th December 2020. The Rudolph Run is a charity event organised by St Raphael’s hospice in Sutton.
The children will receive reindeer antlers and a red nose to wear.
It would be great if each child could donate at least £1 - we have set up a Just Giving page to collect donations. Please click here to find the sponsorship page.

Friday 11th December is Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch!

Each week we put a brief synopsis of one of our Battle of the Books in the newsletter from a year group’s book list.
This week's book is Ice Palace by Robert Swindells and is from the Year 3 book list.
Ivan lives in a land where the winter is dark and fearful. Starjik, King of Winter, steals Ivan's little brother and Ivan braves the bitter cold to find him.
The children need to remember to fill in a book review once they have read a book!
Sutton charities, Sutton council and health services have come together to explain what support is available for families this November, and throughout winter.

If you order books through Scholastic, your order can earn rewards points for our school. When you place an order with Scholastic for over £10, we will receive 20p for every £1 that you spend. Making the most of this is really simple - just add the books you would like to your shopping basket and when you checkout, you will be asked to enter the name of the school you would like to receive the rewards.
Every year we use the rewards we receive through Scholastic to buy new books for our class book corners, on Battle of the Books and on exciting new class texts! Due to current restrictions we will be unable to hold our annual book fair this year, but we would still be extremely grateful if you could support us online instead.

Christmas lunch is on Friday 11th December.
If your child usually has a packed lunch on a Friday and would like a Christmas lunch, please order by Friday 27th November by emailing the school office.
INGREDIENTS
50g plain flour
2 egg whites beaten
100g brown bread crumbs
25 g grated Parmesan cheese
600g chicken breast fillet
Olive oil
METHOD
Preheat the oven, gas 7, 220°C, fan 200°C. Put the flour, egg whites and breadcrumbs on to 3 separate plates.
Mix the Parmesan with the breadcrumbs until well combined. Dip each piece of chicken in the plain flour, then in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, lightly pressing until the meat is well coated.
Put the breaded chicken fillets on a lightly oiled baking tray. Drizzle or spray over a little olive oil. Bake for 12 -15 minutes until the breadcrumbs are crisp and the chicken is cooked through, with no pink showing when cut open.
Tip: Serve with a fresh tomato salsa. Chop 1 large tomato into small pieces, mix with 1/2 thinly sliced spring onion, a good handful of chopped coriander, 1/2 lime zested and juiced and season to taste, if you like.
