Smart Watches

Please can we politely remind you that, to ensure the safety of staff and pupils, children should not bring to school personal devices with chat, call, photograph or video functions; this includes Smart Watches.

Pupils in Years 5 & 6 who walk to/from school alone, may continue to bring mobile phones where this is appropriate, however these are switched off and handed to their Teacher as per the current process.  Children who bring a smart watch into school will be asked to remove it and hand it to their Teacher.

WBD celebrates the joy and value of books and reading.  Take a look below to see some of the exciting activites and events that will be taking place.

World Book Day - Friday 3rd March

On this special day, your child can come to school dressed as their favourite character from any book. The dressing up possibilities are endless: Oliver Twist, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, The Gruffalo, Harry Potter etc.

Scholastic Book Fair

We are pleased to announce that this year we are once again holding our Scholastic Book Fair on the following dates in the hall. Entrance will be  via the hall door:

Payment for books will be by cash only and it would be wonderful if you could bring coins to pay where possible. In advance, every child in the school will receive a £1 book token which they can either use at the fair or in participating book shops. Cheam Fields  will receive a proportion of all sales, which will then be put towards books for the school library and class book corners.

Things to Celebrate!

Design4SDGs Finalists

We are very excited to share that a group of our Digital Leaders (Eco_Squ@d_Cheam Fields) are finalists of the Design4SDG challenge.

They chose SDG13 Climate Action to put together an awareness campaign for which they designed posters, made a website and made a model using recycled materials.

This model shows one side producing lots of greenhouse gasses and another showing how we could produce our own clean energy using renewables and even a road which produces its very own energy with the pressure of self-charging cars that drive on it!

They want to make all our Cheam Fields community and beyond aware of how important it is to look after our planet.

We are very proud of all your hard work!

Jorja (Jade) took part in a gymnastics competition at the weekend.

Well done Jorja!
