We have had a great start to 2021-2022. All pupils have settled into their new classes and there has been so much learning going on.
We are pleased to be welcoming Mrs Stirling to our school family as our new Office Manager.
We are also really excited to announce that Mrs Little, who has been working with us already, is going to become the Office Assistant.
I am sure you will join me in welcoming them to their new roles and will be understanding as they settle in and find their feet in the office.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful half term break!
See you on Tuesday 2nd November.

As of Tuesday 2nd November, pupils will be able to choose if they are having a packed lunch or school meal on a daily basis. This will mean meal patterns are no longer necessary.
Each day, when the teacher does the register, pupils will be asked what they are having for lunch. This information will then be shared with the kitchen via the school office. If your child is late, they will be asked what they are having for lunch as they sign in.
This will allow more flexibility for you all.
Sutton Council is committed to making the streets outside our schools safer for children and one way of doing this is to introduce School Streets. Evidence suggests that School Streets schemes help make the school journey safer and calmer, and encourage more active forms of transport which in turn are better for the environment and for our health.
For these reasons, Sutton Council will be implementing a School Street scheme on the road outside our school. The details are as follows:
They will begin introducing street signs during October 2021, and the scheme will go live from Monday 1st November 2021. The restrictions will be enforced via the use of Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. There will not be any physical barriers preventing vehicles from entering so there will be no impact on emergency vehicles.
The school street will operate between 8.15am and 9.00am and between 2.45pm and 3.45pm only on Monday to Friday inclusive during school term time only. The roads that will be closed during these times are: Stoughton Avenue between Chatsworth Road and Tilehurst Road.
More information on the School Streets and what to expect in the coming months can be found on their website.
Well done Mark!
Well done Adonis!
Well done Gabi!
To launch Year 2's new learning unit: People of the Past, children are invited to come to school on Wednesday 3rd November dressed as someone from the past.
Possible outfits could range from famous Kings or Queens, explorers, inventors, artists or scientists.
The deadline for submitting your e-consent form for the flu vaccination is midnight on Thursday 4th November 2021. Once the portal has closed, you will not be able to fill a form in and your child will not be vaccinated.
Please click here to complete an online consent form to ensure your child receives their vaccination. Please fill in one consent form for each child to avoid duplication.
If you decide you do not want to vaccinate your child against flu, please return the e-consent form giving the reason.

Our Find Your Balance: A day in my digital life art competition, in partnership with Google, is asking children to draw a picture showing how they find a healthy balance in their online and offline lives.
We are looking for a colourful and creative picture that shows how your child makes sure the internet works for them. It could also reflect how you share – and balance – your digital lives at home.
We’ll be choosing the top 50 entries to be displayed in the Houses of Parliament in London – and the winners will be invited to attend an event in Westminster to see their artwork on display. We’ll also be selecting two national winners (one aged 5-7, one aged 8-11) who’ll have their trip to London paid for (please see the terms and conditions for full details).
How to enter: Create an A4-sized artwork on the theme: A day in my digital life.
Your child can think about all the ways they use digital technology as part of family life (perhaps schoolwork, having fun, or catching up with friends and family) and how they balance this with offline activities (like sport, exercise or other things they love doing as a family). There are no right or wrong answers – every family is unique, and yours will have its own ways to find a healthy balance both online and offline.
When they're done, you can fill out the entry form below and upload their finished artwork as a PDF or jpeg file (maximum size 5MB). All accepted artwork entries will be displayed in an online gallery on the Parent Zone website – before being shared with our judging panel. The judging panel will be looking at creativity and originality – as well as how each piece of art responds to our theme.
Closing date: The closing date for entries is 23:59 on Friday 22 October.
