STAFFING CHANGES:
We are very pleased that our teaching staff is extremely stable for next year, however, as always at this time of year, some members of our teaching and support staff will be leaving us at the end of this term.
We are very sad to say farewell to Mrs Reece who had worked at Cheam Fields for 19 years. Mrs Reece has worked as a teaching assistant mostly in Year 1 and 2 supporting children in lessons and working with groups of pupils. She has been a huge part of our Milepost 1 team and we are very sorry to be losing her. We wish her all the best for the future and hope she enjoys many leisurely dog walks with her new found free time!
Sadly, we also have to say goodbye to Mrs Cook after 17 years at Cheam Fields. Mrs Cook has worked across the school during this time and has been a pivotal part of our ELSA team, working closely with lots of different children to provide nurture and support. Mrs Cook has decided to reignite a career in the health sector where she has worked previously. We will miss Mrs Cook terribly but wish her all the best for the future.
We also say farewell to Mr Woollard who is moving to a school in Surrey. Mr Woollard has worked extremely hard to improve our PE curriculum and organise many sporting events and trips during his time with us. We wish him all the best for the future and thank him for all his hard work and enthusiasm over the last four years.
Miss Nijhuis is also embarking on a new career in an independent school in Twickenham. She has been a great asset to Cheam Fields over the last three years and has really helped us develop the teaching of RE across the school. We thank her for her dedication and hard work and wish her all the best for the future.
We also wish Mr Start all the best for the future as he embarks on a PGCE in September. We wish him all the best and hope to see him back in a LEO school one day.
NEW TEACHING STAFF FOR SEPTEMBER 2021
In September we will be adding to the staff we currently have at Cheam Fields Primary Academy. We will be joined by two new class teachers: Miss White and Miss Grant. We also have some new support staff starting with us in September.
We wish them all a very happy time with us at Cheam Fields and are certain they will enjoy developing their careers, with both ourselves and the LEO Academy Trust.

Maths is all around us. But can you capture it? Or do you let it slip by?
We would like you to try to capture maths happening in the real world. We want you to try to spot all of the different times you have used maths apart from during your maths lessons.
Please tweet your competition entry @LEOMaths using #LEOMathsPhoto or email: epotter16@leoacademytrust.co.uk directly with ‘LEO Maths Photo’ as the email subject line.
Winners will be announced before the end of term and a prize given for the winning entry.
Good luck!
The definition of Art is: the product of imagination and creativity, particularly in a physical form. This means that there are many different forms of art: paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, collage, photography, theatre, poetry, novels, music, dance, film and much more.
This year we are basing our work around the environment using four main strands: imagery (such as paintings and photography); books (writing and poetry), music and dance.

Each week we put a brief synopsis of one of our Battle of the Books in the newsletter from a year group’s book list.
Year 1 - Quick Quack Quentin - Kes Gray
Quentin was a duck with a very quick quack.
'QUCK!' said Quentin. 'What's wrong with me?'
Quentin's quack has lost its A. Do any of the other animals have one to spare? Not likely! APES don't want to be PES. SNAKES don't want to be SNKES. PANDAS don't want to be PNDAS or even PANDS. Will Quentin be stuck with a very quick QUCK?!
Brilliant for reading out loud and teaching children about vowels and animals.
Project Tasks:
Please upload projects to Classroom or Seesaw accounts or email to our school office with SDG in the subject line.
