A big well done to Year 6 who showed great resilience and determination this week.
We are so proud of you for doing your absolute best in your SATs papers this week.
Well done Year 6!
The purpose of the week is to motivate children to look at road safety awareness so they feel more confident about walking around safely on their own when they’re older.
Children will be taking part in different activities during the week.
On Thursday 19th May, we will also be getting outside as much as possible to celebrate Outdoor Learning Day!
The day provides an opportunity to deepen understanding of the values of cultural diversity and to advance the four goals of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, adopted on 20 October 2005.
These include:
Support sustainable systems of governance for culture;
Achieve a balanced flow of cultural goods and services and increase mobility of artists and cultural professionals;
Integrate culture in sustainable development frameworks; an
Promote human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Details about how to order lunch were sent out via email this week, please click here to complete the form.
The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is the world's oldest international writing competition for schools, established in 1883.
Each year, young people are asked to write on a theme that explores the Commonwealth’s values and principles, fostering an empathetic and open-minded world view in the next generation of Commonwealth leaders. Recent themes have focused on the environment, inclusion, the role of youth leadership, and gender equality. Annually, winners are invited to travel to the United Kingdom for a week of educational and cultural activities, which culminates in a special Awards Ceremony, usually held at Buckingham Palace, that is hosted by the Society’s Vice-Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall.
This year, the competition will launch during Commonwealth Week on 15 March 2022 and will close on 30 June 2022. If you are interested in entering please follow this link for more details.

On Saturday 9th July 2022, Shawley Community Primary Academy (part of the LEO Academy Trust), will be running a children's market, run by children for children. The idea is that children can set up and run their own business for the day and any profit they make will be their own. We want it to be an event for children in the community.
They would love for children from across LEO schools to have the chance to run their own stalls too. Click here for all the information and to sign up.

‘Small Change, Big Difference’ Parent Group for parents of children with a diagnosis of autism.
The aim is to empower parents, supporting them to help their children by developing an in-depth understanding of autism. Taking a positive approach, we will explore, share and discuss practical strategies to help develop communication skills, pre-empt and manage behaviour and gain confidence and resilience.
During the sessions, parents will be given the opportunity to make connections, gain support and feel less isolated.
Each course comprises of four x 1.5-hour sessions and will cover a range of topics.
Information, updates and details of the activities available to young carers registered with the service can be found on the latest newsletters for 8-13 year-olds and 14+.
