Ukraine is facing an urgent humanitarian crisis. There are hundreds of charities on the ground working tirelessly to offer support to the millions of people affected.

We understand that it can be hard to know how to help so we have found some charity campaigns and fundraisers to donate to.

Football Achievements

On Saturday 5th March our mixed football team we’re invited to Sutton United FC to watch their maths against Rochdale. They had the honour of meeting the mayor and being the mascots.

The team walked out with Sutton United in recognition of their hard work on winning the Ultra Kids Cup Sutton United tournament. This meant they would represent Sutton United in the regional stages in Swindon on Tuesday 8th March. At half time the teams success was announced over the tannoy as they took to the pitch to do a lap of honour with their trophy.

On Tuesday 8th March the team set off early on a coach to Swindon Town FC where they represented Sutton United in the regional stage. They played so well and were fantastic. Overall they came 4th and we couldn’t be prouder of our team. Thank you to the parents for their support too.

A huge congratulations to Albie, Lola, Freddie, Henry, Daniel, Rhys, Regan, Jack and Charlie.

Help With How To Talk To Children About Russia’s Invasion Of Ukraine

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is distressing and concerning. Understandably, children and young people may have questions or be seeking reassurance. As always, teachers are supporting children within school with any questions or worries.

Here are some background reading resources to help you think about how you can support children with what they are seeing or feeling:

Supporting your child if they see upsetting content online about what is happening in Ukraine (Childnet)

We should not hide from children what is happening in Ukraine (Schools Week/Children's Commissioner)

How to talk to children about what’s happening in Ukraine (Metro)

Help for teachers and families to talk to pupils about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (Department for Education)

We also have a parent support worker who is here if you need any support or are directly affected and want to talk. Please contact the school if you need to arrange a meeting or a telephone call with the parent support worker.

The Autism Service have created an Autism Support Map with information, resources and videos for a variety of profiles. Click here to access it.
