Expected Behaviour Of Parents And Visitors

Please be reminded of our expectations for members of the public, parents and other visitors when on or around the school site.  This extends to both Tilehurst Road and Chatsworth Road if you are parking there to drop off or collect your child.

1.1. The LEO Academy Trust welcomes visitors to our academies. We will act to ensure the academies remain a safe place for pupils, staff and all other members of the community. If a parent/carer has concerns we will always listen to them and seek to address them.

1.2. The LEO Academy Trust expects that members of the public, parents and other visitors to our academies will behave in a polite and courteous manner to each other, to staff and to pupils. It is expected that parents and carers will be good role models with respect to conduct and managing individual concerns.

1.3. The LEO Academy Trust will not tolerate aggressive, violent, abusive or anti-social behaviour towards anyone on the academy site. This includes abusive telephone calls and abuse using cyber technology.

Full details can be found on our website.

World Book Day and Book Fair

This year we are celebrating World Book Day (WBD) on Friday 3rd March 2023 and we would like to invite you to join us in helping your child to make the most of this special occasion. WBD celebrates the joy and value of books and reading.  Take a look below to see some of the exciting activites and events that will be taking place.

World Book Day - Friday 3rd March

On this special day, your child can come to school dressed as their favourite character from any book. The dressing up possibilities are endless: Oliver Twist, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, The Gruffalo, Harry Potter etc.

Scholastic Book Fair

We are pleased to announce that this year we are once again holding our Scholastic Book Fair on the following dates in the hall. Entrance will be  via the hall door:

Payment for books will be by cash only and it would be wonderful if you could bring coins to pay where possible. In advance, every child in the school will receive a £1 book token which they can either use at the fair or in participating book shops. Cheam Fields  will receive a proportion of all sales, which will then be put towards books for the school library and class book corners.

World Book Day Competition

In addition to the above, there will also be a book-themed competition running in the lead-up to World Book Day. This year we are asking the children to take part in some extreme reading! To enter the competition, they will need to take a photo of themselves reading a book in a funny, unusual or extreme place. Please send in your photos via Seesaw, Google Classroom or email them to the School Office by Tuesday 21st February with their name and class clearly shown. Winners will be revealed on Friday 24th February and will receive a prize.
