We are very pleased that staffing is extremely stable for next year, however, as always at this time of year, some members of our team will be leaving us at the end of this term.
We are very sad to say farewell to Mr Ansell, who has worked at Cheam Fields for eight years. Mr Ansell has been an integral part of our teaching team as well as leading Mandarin across the school and trust for the last few years. He is about to embark on a new career and will be very much missed. We thank him for his dedication, hard work and humour over the last eight years and wish him all the best in his new venture!
Sadly, we also have to say goodbye to Mrs Little, who has worked with us for four years in an administrative capacity, more recently working as our Office Assistant. We will miss Mrs Little a lot and thank her for all her kindness and hard work over the years. Good luck for the future!
We are also saying goodbye to Mrs Tsang who has been an important part of the Reception team this year. We wish her all the best for the future and thank her for all her hard work.
In September we will be welcoming some new members of staff to Cheam Fields Primary Academy.
Mrs Brain will be joining us from another LEO school as Milepost 2 Lead (Year 3 & 4) teaching in Year 4. We are very pleased to be welcoming her to Cheam Fields. We will also be joined by two new class teachers: Miss Breeden and Miss Lennard.
Miss Davies will also be joining us as a LEO Sports Apprentice. She will work alongside Miss Bartlett and Mr Honeysett, teaching PE sessions as well as running clubs.
We wish them all a very happy time with us at Cheam Fields and we look forward to welcoming them in September.

We are now seeking your feedback on a proposed scheme where your child goes to school.
Your feedback will help us to understand how well the scheme is working and if there are any opportunities for improvement.
The survey opens on Monday 4th July and can be accessed via https://bit.ly/3NrGYhM. We would be grateful if you could complete the survey before the closing date of Sunday 17th July and we thank you for your participation.

The government has published their ideas on how to improve SEND processes in England in a 'Green Paper'. They want to hear the views of parents / carers, young people and children.
An ‘easy read’ version of the Green Paper is here: SEND review: right support, right place, right time (easy read). If you want to read the full version, click on this link: SEND Review - right support, right place, right time
There are two ways to tell the Government what you think:
1) The link to the Government's survey is here: DfE Green Paper Consultation These responses will be counted individually.
2) The National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) has also developed a (simpler) version here: NNPCF Survey. This should take no more than 10 - 15 minutes to complete. The responses from this survey will be used to inform the NNPCF’s response to the Green Paper consultation.
The survey will close on 22 July 2022.
Cognus are running an in-person autism parent/carer workshop on the evening of 18 July, covering difficulties with identifying emotions and strategies to support.
To attend, please complete registration of interest form.
A new community cultural centre is being built in Sutton high street. To shape the design and function, they want to get feedback.
Please can you complete this survey to give your input. The more people that input, the more likely it will be a location that reflects the community and what they want.
On Saturday 9th July 2022, Shawley Community Primary Academy (part of the LEO Academy Trust), will be running a children's market, run by children for children. The idea is that children can set up and run their own business for the day and any profit they make will be their own. We want it to be an event for children in the community.
They would love for children from across LEO schools to have the chance to run their own stalls too. Click here for all the information and to sign up.
We are looking to host another Small Change, Big Difference course with Adapt to Learn. For those that are unfamiliar with this course, we run this as an alternative to the Early Bird programme. Some information about this is below.
If you are interested in attending this course, please email: sutton@nas.org.uk and we'll be in touch.
‘Small Change, Big Difference’ Parent Group for parents of children with a diagnosis of autism.
The aim is to empower parents, supporting them to help their children by developing an in-depth understanding of autism. Taking a positive approach, we will explore, share and discuss practical strategies to help develop communication skills, pre-empt and manage behaviour and gain confidence and resilience.
During the sessions, parents will be given the opportunity to make connections, gain support and feel less isolated.
Each course comprises of four x 1.5-hour sessions and will cover a range of topics.
With the Womens EUROs being held in England this summer, we anticipate a boom in girls wanting to play football. At Carshalton Athletic, we will be running Girls teams in 2022/23 season at U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12 age groups - so basically from 6 year olds through to year 7
If any of your female pupils are interested in joining our club, please can you ask them to register at https://form.123formbuilder.com/6134749/ (you can access this form from https://www.carshaltonathletic.co.uk/trials). Don't worry about the dates against the age groups. Just register and we will be able to contact any girls interested in trying out.
Training sessions will be organised when we have sufficient numbers to make them workable and I will contact parents who register to let them know the schedule. Qualified coaches are already in place for these teams.
Information, updates and details of the activities available to young carers registered with the service can be found on the latest newsletters for 8-13 year-olds and 14+.
If you know of a young carer that may not be registered, please contact us at anna@suttoncarerscentre.org and we will send you our referral form.
