Community Ambassador News
As part of our partnership with St Raphael’s Hospice we would love the children to make Christmas Cards, at home, to send to the residents there.
The theme for the cards this year is ‘Lights’.
Please post your finished cards in the Red Post Box in Reception by Friday 10th December.
We hope you have as much enjoyment from making them as the residents will get from receiving them.
We cannot wait to see the wonderful designs you come up with!

Upcoming Events
Class Christmas Carol Concerts
We are still busy preparing to welcome you into school over the next few weeks to watch our Christmas carol concerts and the Year 3 drumming showcase.
In light of recent Government announcements about the new variant and temporary restrictions back in place, we ask you follow the below steps, for the safety of everyone.
When attending a school event please:
- Wear a face covering (unless you are exempt)
- Take a rapid lateral flow test before the event and only attend if you get a negative test result (Rapid lateral flow devices can be ordered by clicking here)
- Wrap up warm (the hall will be well ventilated to improve fresh air flow so it could be chilly!)
All performances will be recorded for those of you who are unable to attend or don’t feel comfortable attending.
Each performance will take place in the hall (apart from Nursery). Please arrive at the time stated below and queue at the hall door.

Friday 10th December - St Raphael's Rudolph Run and Christmas Jumper Day
As part of our Christmas celebrations we will be taking part in the Rudolph Run on Friday 10th December. This is also Christmas jumper day.
The Rudolph Run is a charity event organised by St Raphael’s hospice in Sutton. The money raised will help St Raphael’s to provide exceptional end of life care to almost 1,000 patients and their families every year who live in Merton & Sutton. 75% of their running costs rely on the incredible support and generosity of the community. During this difficult time for all of us, they need you now more than ever.
The children should come to school in their Christmas jumpers and they will be provided with a red nose and antlers for a suggested £1 donation. Please can we ask that any sponsorship money for the Rudolph Run is paid to our JustGiving page for St Raphael’s Hospice by clicking here.
We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping us raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice.

Opportunity
Roundabout Dramatherapy are delighted to announce the return of their Advent Story Calendar.
Behind each door is a story recorded especially for Roundabout.
This year some of the #ShareAStory donors are appearing in pantomimes across the UK and will be wearing their stage costumes when they share their stories, so it promises to be a real treat.

The Winter Calendar is now live, a seasonal challenge where your child can unlock festive rewards by Doodling daily!
Between the 1st and 24th of December, encourage your child to complete an x-a-day exercise each day in DoodleMaths and/or DoodleEnglish to unlock a calendar door.
They'll find accessories in DoodleMaths and the parts to build Santa's sleigh in DoodleEnglish. And if they open all of the doors, they'll also receive a virtual Winter Calendar badge!
Find out more with this short video and article, or visit Doodle's Help Centre and click on the green icon to chat to their team.

For Parents (6-9 year olds) - SMART Videos
Childnet have produced a series of six short videos based on the SMART rules which parents can use to discuss a range of online safety issues with their children. You can view all of the videos HERE.
For Parents and School (early years) - Goldilocks Book
Goldilocks is quite an old book but I find that not many are aware of it. It's a twist on the original fairy tale with a social media slant to help educate children about the potential consequences of being unkind, getting carried away with selfies and oversharing images.
You can download a PDF version of the book and an activity sheet HERE. Great to use in the classroom or send the link to parents.
latest Ambitious for SEND Newsletter (November Edition). We want to transition from a system where schools distribute to one where parents that want to receive it can opt in. Would appreciate it if you could encourage parents to subscribe to the newsletter using the button at the bottom of the newsletter.
