Dear Parents & Carers,

As you are already aware, we will be opening our school more widely from Monday 8 June, with many pupils in Reception, Year 1 & Year 6 returning to lessons on site. Class teachers from all year groups will be returning to school to teach children in Reception, Year 1, Year 6 and Key Worker children. As a result, our online distance learning will be changing to reflect this. We remain committed to supporting your child’s learning at home and will be launching a new range of lessons and activities for all year groups next week on our distance learning website:

www.leodistancelearning.co.uk

You will continue to find activities, videos, work and online learning resources for your child to complete at home each day. There will also be distance learning activities and links for you to choose from and there will also be a daily menu of activities for you to follow. Each night a new menu of activities will be added to the website ready for the following day.

All pupils can keep in touch with their child’s class teacher using the email addresses provided on each year group’s web page, as well as with the LEO Distance Learning Team at their new email address distancelearning@leoacademytrust.co.uk.

Class teachers will continue to respond to emails sent to the year group email addresses as much as possible. They will also be continuing to use Google Meet to hold virtual meetings with classes too. Your child’s class teacher will be in touch soon regarding this.

For all of us, this is still an unprecedented situation. However, we remain committed to supporting the children with their education during this enforced period of school closure for children in Nursery, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5. We will continue to provide the necessary resources to support you and your children's learning at this challenging time and will also still celebrate the children’s learning and achievements, whether from home or at school. We will continue to use Twitter on a daily basis. If your child is working at home, please share their learning with us on Twitter & include #LEODistanceLearning in your Tweet.

We are so proud of each and everyone of you for staying home and keeping safe. Hopefully we will be reunited very soon, but until then keep smiling!
