Cheam Common Junior Academy: Kingsmead Avenue, Worcester Park KT4 8UT
Email: ccjoffice@leoacademytrust.co.uk http://www.cheamcommon.org.uk/
As we come to the end of the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support in what has been another incredibly busy and successful year for children at Cheam Common Junior. Throughout this year, children have continued to shine through all of their achievements, whether it be academic, sporting or small personal triumphs, they have shown themselves to be the best that they can always be. Their effort, resilience and kind, polite nature is a joy to behold and we are proud of their achievements. They have been a credit to both you and to the school.
As always, we would like to thank Mrs Townsend, Miss Hendra and Mr Perrott, who will leaving at the end of the year as they continue their journey within LEO and also to wish Miss Harland the best of luck as she begins her maternity. To all the parents, carers and families of Cheam Common, we would also like to extend our thanks for your continued support across the year.
Looking ahead to the next academic year, our teachers are busy preparing for the return of all pupils to school on Tuesday 06th September. Please note Monday 05th September is an INSET Day. There is no school for children on this day.
The year group inboxes will not be monitored over the summer, if you wish to contact the school, please do this via the school office.
We can't wait to see you all again in September!
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Miss Gunner
On behalf of LEO Academy Trust, we would like to say a massive thank you to Mr McEvilly, Chair of Governors, for all the superb leadership he has provided for both Cheam Common schools over many years.
Mr McEvilly's skills, expertise and knowledge as a school governor are second to none. He has led the local governing boards of both schools with empathy and understanding, bringing about significant improvements during his time as Chair and prior to that as a governor.
We hope you join us in wishing him well in his future endeavours.
As we draw a close to yet another busy year across both Cheam Common schools, we would like to extend our thank you's to the Friends of Cheam Common parent group. This year, they have excelled in raising money for the schools for much needed playground and sporting equipment, books for the libraries and key resources to support children's learning. Throughout the year, they have worked tirelessly and for that we thank you all.
We would also like to extend our thanks's for their recent Friends of Cheam Common Summer Fair, which was a fantastic success all round. Whether it be through the FOC raffle, donations and money spent during the day, Friends of Cheam Common are pleased to announce that they have raised an incredible £9, 352! Such an achievement is outstanding an a testament to the organised efforts of all involved. The money will now be used for the next academic year, where it will continue to support both Cheam Common Infants and Cheam Common Juniors.
Over the course of the year, with all of the incredible events Friends of Cheam Common have put on and hosted, they have raised an amazing £21,065 in total. Below you can see a breakdown of how the money has been raised and what it has been spent on.
Well done, congratulations and thank you to you all!
Congratulations to Harry L (6W) for an incredibly special achievement.
Over the past two years, since Doodle first started at Cheam Common, Harry has been working tirelessly using Doodle English to help further his studies. As a result, he has achieved an incredible 750 day+ Doodle English Streak.
Such an achievement is phenomenal and we congratulate him on such dedication!
PLEASE NOTE, SCHOOL STARTS ON TUESDAY 6th SEPTEMBER 2022.
HAVE A LOVELY SAFE AND RELAXING SUMMER FROM US ALL AT CHEAM COMMON!

Please can we remind all parents / carers to be considerate of the local community, members of Kingsmead Avenue and neighbouring streets regarding on street parking.
During peak hours, we ask that those who drive their children to school, be mindful of parking across members of the public driveway, blocking in and/or restricting access for vehicles to pass.
Furthermore, even though the Sutton Street Scheme has proven successful, please note that the road is still in use and that parents, carers and children should be mindful not to walk in the road nor obstruct oncoming traffic from those who live on Kingsmead Avenue.
Many thanks.
