Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

A new term brings new opportunities and after our first full week back at Cheam Common Junior, it has been exciting to see and hear all of the exciting learning that has been taking place. Around the school, there has been a real buzz of excitement as children get stuck into their new topics!

In Year 3, children have been building their very own model volcanoes, whereas in Year 4, they have been tasting the delights of chocolate as part of their learning unit. Technology in Year 5 & 6 has helped enhance the learning, providing children opportunities to discover a range of existing, endangered and extinct animals as well as discover the work of famous scientist, Charles Darwin.

It is not just inside the classroom, as children have welcomed the return of before and after school clubs. Even though COVID restrictions have meant clubs remain in year group bubbles, we are pleased by the record number of children who have signed up this term. Finally, children have been fortunate enough to take part in a series of sporting borough competitions this week, ranging from Cross Country, Handball and Y6 Girls Football. We are pleased and incredibly proud of how our children have performed during these events! Well done to all that took part and we cannot wait to see this continue across the term.
