We express our deepest sympathies for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her dedication to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and to her other realms and territories is unparalleled and we thank her for her service.
Our school will observe the mourning period whilst continuing to support our pupils, families and staff. Unless otherwise stated, please assume any scheduled activities and events will continue as planned.
Our school will be keeping pupils informed of news about these events as part of assemblies and class activities. If you think your child may be experiencing particular upset due to the passing of the Queen, please do let us know so we can provide additional support if needed.
We will keep you updated as information is released about the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, and any public holidays that may occur during the official mourning period.
Below are some websites with resources to support your child during this time.

Next week, (week commencing 12th September) our wide range of sporting and wider opportunity clubs and activities for children start. From football, netball and archery to art, Mandarin and gymnastics, there are over 40 activities for children to take part in.
Interest in clubs and activities has been incredibly high and although we have tried to ensure every child is able to secure a place in at least one of their chosen activities, we understand there may be some disappointment. If your child did not get into a chosen club, please be rest assured that their name is on the waiting list and they will be allocated a priority place in a club next time.
On Friday 16th September, children are to have their Individual School Photographs taken, along with any siblings (both Infants and Juniors). Please ensure your child is in full school uniform (white shirt, school tie, jumper or cardigan).
If your child has a sibling in the Infants, and you would like for them to be photographed together, please bring them promptly to the Junior school hall at 8am. The company will try to accommodate as many families as they can in the allotted time slot between 8 - 8:30am. If you are not in the queue at 8:30, your children will not be able to have their photos taken. Children with siblings solely at the Juniors will have an opportunity for their photo to be taken during the school day.
As we start a new academic term, please can we remind all parents/carers to be considerate of residents of Kingsmead Avenue and neighbouring streets regarding on street parking.
During peak hours, we ask that those who drive their children to school, be mindful of parking across members of the public driveway, blocking in and/or restricting access for vehicles to pass.
Furthermore, even though the Sutton Street Scheme has proven successful, please note that the road is still in use and that parents, carers and children should be mindful not to walk in the road nor obstruct oncoming traffic from those who live on Kingsmead Avenue.
As the start of Autumn Term can be incredibly busy, we have collated all the important dates for your diary.

Next week’s Craze of the Week is 'Dance Craze' and the 'Game of the Week' is ‘Sharky Sharky’.
Our sports leaders will be on hand to help run games and crazes as well as model skills of turn taking, being respectful to adults, each other and the equipment, helping all children have a happy play time.
Budding Artists is thrilled to be back running art classes at Cheam Common Infants school on Monday afternoons. Every 1-2 lessons the children will produce and take home a piece of artwork they are proud of. They will draw inspiration from the ‘masters of art’ and learn to draw and experiment with a variety of different media. Projects often relate to seasonal events. As well as a fun and relaxing pastime, Art is great for your child’s dexterity, creativity, problem- solving, confidence and well-being. Our goal is to make it your child’s favourite hour of the week!
