Going forwards, should you wish to donate to any themed day or charity event, we will now be providing an online QR code for you to add contributions, as we move towards a cashless school.
In order to commemorate and honour armed forces members who died in the line of duty during the First World War, Cheam Common Junior will be holding a special 2 minute silence at 11am on Thursday 11th November.
Children from our School Council will also be selling Poppies and various other Remembrance Day items in order to raise money for charity those affected by war.
These will be sold during Break Times in the main playground. Should your child wish to purchase a poppy or any other item on sale, they can bring in £1 to donate directly via the charity boxes provided.
Children will also be coming round to class throughout the week.

If your child is in Year 5 or 6 and you wish for them to develop their skills on the bike as well being road safety proficient, you can sign up using the link here. You will receive an email if your child's space has been confirmed.
From Monday 01st November 2021, road restrictions will be enforced via the use of Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras as part of the Sutton Schools Streets Scheme.
There will not be any physical barriers preventing vehicles from entering so there will be no impact on emergency vehicles. The school street will operate between 8.15-9.00am and 2.45-3.30pm only on Monday to Friday inclusive during school term time only.
For further information, please find a copy of the letter attached here. The letter includes important information about Knolls Close, Abingdon Close and Kingsmead Avenue between Dalmeny Road and Balmoral Road.

Earlier this week, 25 lucky Year 6 children were provided a very exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the iconic 10 Downing Street, home of Boris Johnson, our current Prime Minister. Children were able to enter the premises via the famous black door, before being taken on a behind the scenes tour, where some of the countries most important decisions have been made. Along the way, children were able to sit in the Prime Minister's chair within the cabinet room and visit the newly fitted media suite, where so many announcements have been made. They even met the Prime Minister's cat, Larry. Children ended the day with a stroll past several icon London Landmarks. Well done Year 6!
As we enter Autumn 2, children from Year 3 to Year 6 have been enjoying various activities as part of their new curriculum topics. Each 'Entry Point' is designed to be a fun, exciting and fully immersive experience that allows children the opportunity to begin their initial inquiries into their new topic. Whether it be cave paintings as part of Year 3's 'Scavengers and Settlers', to an immersive experience as part of Year 4's 'Ancient Romans', from xxx as part of Year 5's 'Ancient Greeks', to exotic food tasting as part of Year 6's 'AD900 - Ancient Civilisations', children have enjoyed the wonderful experiences. We cannot wait to see what they learn next!
This week, courtesy of Sutton Sports Partnership, our amazing year 6 Sports leaders were given training on how to support children through fun activities and games during break and lunch times. Child had fun demonstrating their skills to Year 3 classes who enjoyed the activities they had put on. Well done year 6!
Congratulations to our Year 4 Boys Cross Country Winners, who this week received the winning trophy. We are very proud of all those that took part and the effort they had put in. Thank you to SSP Sutton for organising such a wonderful event. Well done, boys!
Children from across Year 3 and Year 4 had a fantastic morning at the SSP Sutton Tag Rugby Festival! Children enjoyed taking part in training with John Fisher pupils and then finishing with some highly competitive matches where we came out victorious in each game. Some fantastic rugby on display and our children performed proudly. Well done Year 3 and 4!

As part of continuing to provide training and support, Google and Parent Zone have partnered up to provide digital drop-in sessions, which have been designed to teach online safety and reinforce important messages.
Delivered on YouTube and led by Parent Zone’s experienced team, these sessions take a 360° look at a specific topic such as Cyber-bullying or Sharing Carefully.
To find a full list of online events taking place, check out their website here.
You can also access i videos and activities from previous sessions.
Is your child an aspiring young artist? Enter our competition – and they could win an amazing trip to the Houses of Parliament!
Our Find Your Balance: A day in my digital life art competition, in partnership with Google, is asking children to draw a picture showing how they find a healthy balance in their online and offline lives.
We are looking for a colourful and creative picture that shows how your child makes sure the internet works for them. It could also reflect how you share – and balance – your digital lives at home.
We’ll be choosing the top 50 entries to be displayed in the Houses of Parliament in London – and the winners will be invited to attend an event in Westminster to see their artwork on display. We’ll also be selecting two national winners (one aged 5-7, one aged 8-11) who’ll have their trip to London paid for .
For full terms and conditions, check out further information here.
