A massive thank you to our families who have helped with our dress up days this week.
Yesterday, our Year 5 children enjoyed Space Day: they tried space food, were immersed in space and even met Neil Armstrong through Now Press Play!
Today, we welcomed our children into school in their pyjamas! We raised money and awareness for the Children's Hospital Pyjamas Campaign.
We are inviting all Year 4 children to take part in the Bikeability 'Learn to Ride' course in January 2025.
This course is perfect for children who are complete beginners, or who have recently started to learn to ride a bike - you can state your child's biking ability on the form below.
We are hosting courses which start on either the week commencing Monday 6th January or Monday 13th January. If signed up, you will get confirmation of your child's course nearer the time. The courses will take place for 1 hour per day for the duration of the week.
If you would like to sign your child up to the course, please check your emails for the 'Learn to Ride' email sent last week.
If parents who have already signed their child up would like their bike checking for road suitability, On Your Bike Repairs (Worcester Park) are offering a discounted rate when CCJ is mentioned.
Please find attached any important festive dates for December, including a link to sign your child up for Christmas lunch.
Every year, we support Kingston Hospital and St George's Hospital in our Christmas Pyjama Campaign.
We are collecting donations of pyjamas from generous families throughout November. If you would like to donate, this would be hugely appreciated. Any donations can be handed to class teachers.
Thank you for your support.

LEO Academy Trust is incredibly proud to work in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching as an Associate College to deliver Initial Teacher Training, (ITT) Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) from September 2025. Associate Colleges are successful school trusts, selected because of their wealth of in-house expertise in professional development and their deep relationships in their local areas. This collaboration allows us to be at the forefront of educational excellence, providing local teachers with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth, learning and development. Together, we are shaping the future of teaching and learning, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education.

Children across the school wrote a wishlist of the different books that they would like to see in their library and their classrooms.
We have collated this wishes and have put together an Amazon Wish List, which can be found here. If parents and families wish, there are over a hundred books that children are desperate to read on the list and these can be ordered as a present to our school. Alternatively, if you notice a book on the list that your children no longer read, we are always grateful for any donations!
It has also been suggested by our children that, on a birthday, rather than bringing sweets in for their classmates, children choose a book on the list that they would like to donate to their class. This also falls in line with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. On the order, there is an option to leave a message - you can specify which class the book is for. As ever, we recognise that money can be tight so please note that this is entirely optional. Any support is always appreciated.
Check out what our children have been up to this week at Cheam Common Junior Academy!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
We have loved receiving some fantastic homework so early in the term!
Remember: Each year group's homework matrix can be found in the section below. Completing these tasks is optional but can really help to enrich the children's learning and understanding of these topics.
