Welcome to our new look Cheam Common Junior Newsletter. Within the newsletter, you will find various 'quick links' that will help you navigate the site, making it much easier to find information you require at Cheam Common Junior.
At the beginning of November, children across Cheam Common Junior came together to help raise money as part of the Remembrance Day Poppy Appeal. After many generous donations, we are pleased to announce that together, we raised an amazing ÂŁ470.90. From us all we would like to say a huge thank you to both children and adults for helping raise this incredible amount and a huge thank you to a wonderful parent helper, Mrs Leonard, who alongside Mrs Culver helped organise such a brilliant charitable event! Well done all!
As we head into December, we look forward to the many wonderful events that we have planned across Cheam Common Junior. Check out the News and Updates section for events occurring next week and remember to cast your eye over the Diary Dates below, for further information this term.
Finally, the Friends of Cheam Common have organised a festive Christmas Raffle. Should you wish to purchase tickets, then you can do so by clicking the following link here, where you could be in with a chance to win a whole host of prizes. For further information, head to our Events and Wider Opportunities section below.
The Winter Calendar is now live, a seasonal challenge where your child can unlock festive rewards by Doodling daily! Between the 1st and 24th of December, encourage your child to complete an x-a-day exercise each day in DoodleMaths and/or DoodleEnglish to unlock a calendar door. They'll find accessories in DoodleMaths and the parts to build Santa's sleigh in DoodleEnglish. And if they open all of the doors, they'll also receive a virtual Winter Calendar badge!
Find out more with this short video and article, or visit Doodle's Help Centre and click on the green icon to chat to their team.
Based on Public Health England and DfE guidance issued this week, the decision has been made to revert year groups into bubbles as part of ongoing procedures and protocols. Throughout the school, sanitising stations, regular cleaning and social distancing is being promoted and we are limiting large gatherings where possible. During this period, as government guidance states, if your child remains well they are required to stay in school even if somebody in your household has tested positive. Should your child develop any symptoms, you must take a PCR test and keep your child at home during this period, before informing the School Office of the results. As always, should we receive further guidance, we will always communicate and update you as soon as possible.
Please can we remind all parents and carers, that only information issued by the School is to be followed as we aware that information has been incorrectly shared via What's App groups and social media. Should you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Senior Leadership team via the School Office.
