This week, our Digital Leaders from across the school were fortunate enough to visit the BETT UK Show 2022 at London's Excel Centre. Set over three days, the BETT show demonstrates the best in leading EdTech technology, apps and resources, which our children (and teachers) were excited to trial out, looking for the next best tool to use across our LEO Schools. Our amazing Digital Leaders even took to the ASUS stage, where they spoke about how the use of Google Chromebooks and Google Education is transforming teaching and learning across all our LEO schools.
During the day, it wasn't just our Digital Leaders presenting. In fact, Mr Perrott (Director of English), Mrs Shirley (Director of Computing) where joined by Mrs Wilkinson (Director of Teaching and Learning) and Miss Potter (Director of Maths), where they took to the stage to present a series of presentations on the legacy of technology at LEO since COVID and the impact it is has had in supporting children within English Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Well done to all those involved. Check out the photos below and the children's comments from the day!
Representing our school both on and off the pitch, all the children involved displayed wonderful teamwork, respect for one another and displayed excellent football skills leading to a very fun filled game.
Thank you to Mr Ewing for organising and for Cheam Park Farm for hosting. We look forward to many more games to come! Well done boys!
On Wednesday, our Year 6 Girls Netball team played triumphantly against Dorchester Primary during the their friendly match at Cheam Common. Fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship was displayed throughout the entire match, with plenty of fantastic skills on display.
Supported by Mrs Culver and Miss Austin, the girls played brilliantly on the court as they demonstrated great teamwork and ball control leading to a victorious win for our school.
Congratulations to all of the Year 6 girls involved.
Whilst the sun was shining, Year 6 took part in the Sutton Sports Tchoukball Festival.
Tchoukball is a fast paced, hand ball sport where a team of 7 players have to work together to complete a series of passes before landing their point in the score zone.
Children really enjoyed taking part, whilst learning a fun, new and exciting game.
Thank you to the Carshalton Boys for helping to fascilitate the event and well done to all those involved.
As part of Girl Guides, Roxy was chosen by her Guide Leader to participate and share all of her wonderful knowledge on the BBC radio.
During the morning, she spoke about her passions and hobbies, playing her favourite songs as well as sharing what life is like at Cheam Common Junior, giving a shout out to all her teachers and friends.
You can check out Roxie's performance through the link below (click at the 3hrs 21mins mark).
