Group 2 have had a fantastic time as part of their Year 6 residential trip to the Isle of Wight. During their stay, children took to the waters at Tapnell Farm Aqua Park, paddle boarded in the sea and visited the beach for a range of fun activities. They also visited Osborne House, the summer house of Queen Victoria, went bowling and enjoyed the famous Needles.. Children have had a fantastic time with glorious weather and plenty of laughter and smiles. Check out the fantastic photos below from Group Two's adventures!
This week, as part of Mandarin Club, children from across Cheam Common Junior took part in a Mandarin experience held at Cheam Fields. Each day, children took part in a range of activities and food tasting experiences. Children had a brilliant time! Well done!
Organised by our Director of Music, Miss Green, Year Five pupils were fortunate to take part in a special musical singing workshop with composer Russel Hepplewhite. They had a great session and the children enjoyed singing 'Dinosaurs'. Thank you for an amazing opportunity.
Year 5 were fortunate enough to attend a 'Dragons’ Den' experience at Tiffin Girls High School. Together they created their own bath bombs, developed a business plan, designed their own packaging and presented their final product to a panel of judges with pride and passion.
Our Y6 Quads Kids Team received their Gold medals after coming first place in the SSP Sutton Quad Kids Competition earlier this week!
The team will now represent SSP Sutton in the South London Quad Kids Final alongside Schools from Merton, Croydon, Bromley, Kingston & Richmond.
Well Done Team for your incredible achievement and we look forward to further updates.
We have had a great week, where children have been developing their tennis skills alongside playing 'Sharky Sharky' - a fun, safe way of playing tag!
Next week’s Craze of 'Hula Hoops' is Stills and the 'Game of the Week' is ‘Grandma's Footsteps’.
Our sports leaders will be on hand to help run games and crazes as well as model skills of turn taking, being respectful to adults, each other and the equipment, helping all children have a happy play time.
On Tuesday 05th July, 6pm, Sutton Music Services will be showcasing the talent of children across Sutton as part of the KS2 music Festival. Scan the QR code above to buy tickets!
On Saturday 25th June, LEO Academy will be taking part in St Raphael's Lavender Memory 6 Mile charity walk. Use the code above to receive a 10% discount when registering!
On 9th July 2022, Shawley Community Primary will be hosting our first-ever children's market run by children for children and there are a few spaces left should your child wish to take part! Your child could sell pre-loved toys, games or books or set up a games stall for a bit of fun. Perhaps they make jewellery, crafts, cookies or smoothies etc?
Running a stall costs £2 and whatever your child makes on the day goes directly to them providing your child the perfect opportunity to put their entrepreneurial skills to good use. A responsible adult must support each child on the day but the child is responsible for the selling, set up, signs and clearing away.
If your child does not fancy having a stall, why not come along with some cash to have a look around and support our mini entrepreneurs! This event is purely to bring both the local and the LEO community together so we would love to see you there.

Please can we remind all parents / carers to be considerate of the local community, members of Kingsmead Avenue and neighbouring streets regarding on street parking.
During peak hours, we ask that those who drive their children to school, be mindful of parking across members of the public driveway, blocking in and/or restricting access for vehicles to pass.
Furthermore, even though the Sutton Street Scheme has proven successful, please note that the road is still in use and that parents, carers and children should be mindful not to walk in the road nor obstruct oncoming traffic from those who live on Kingsmead Avenue.
Many thanks.
Thank you to all the parents, carers and children who kindly donated during last week's Friends of Cheam Common Mufti day.
Due to your incredibly generous donations, we have raised an amazing £571.

The London Borough of Sutton’s Cultural Services is launching a brand new Summer Reading Club for children from 4 to 11 years of age. This year’s Summer Reading Club aims to promote reading for pleasure and to prevent the dip in reading attainment which can occur over the summer by encouraging children to read throughout the holidays.
The new Summer Reading Club promotes reading for through a wide range of both physical books and eBooks, including Audiobooks. They ask that children borrow and read six library books and invites them to join us for one or more of the exciting STEAM-themed events which will be held at our Libraries or Heritage houses this summer. The project will begin on Friday 1st July and will run throughout the summer holidays.
Parents will be able to sign their children up to the Summer Reading Club either online or at one of libraries within the Borough of Sutton and will be entered into a prize draw where they could win a family ticket to Bockett’s Farm, a family ticket to Oxygen Freejumping or one of 5 £20 Amazon vouchers. They will also receive a certificate when they return to school in September.
