This week’s craze is: skipping and the games are: ‘fruit salad’ and ‘stuck in the mud’. Our sports leaders will be on hand to help run these games and crazes as well as to model skills of turn taking, being respectful to adults, each other and the equipment and helping all children have a happy play and lunchtime.
Positive Playtime - Dressing Up Request
This half term, we are excited to be launching our new 'Positive Playtime', with a whole host of games, activities and resources for children to use during both break and lunchtimes.
As part of this, we will be building a stage for children to use and perform during these times. Should you have any dressing up items, accessories or equipment and would like to donate these to the school, we would we grateful to receive these and we ask if they could be handed into your child's class teacher or to the school office.
Yesterday, Cheam Common Junior were excited to take part in a range of exciting activities as part of World Book Day. This year, the celebrations are based around promoting 'Reading for Pleasure'. Children and staff took part in whole range of activities, challenges , competitions and even dressing up in an array of truly inspiring and imaginative costumes to promote a love of reading for all!
After school, we also held our World Book Sale 'Book & cake Sale'. Thank you very much to everybody who donated and to those who purchased items on sale. We are pleased to announce that we raised an incredible £160 which will help go to restocking out school libraries for children to use.
After last years success, Friends of Cheam Common and Doughies have teamed up again to bring you a fun cooking experience for the entire family. As part of the evening event, you can order either pizza and/or cookie kits to make and bake your very own delicious treats. Orders should be placed by Saturday 26th March and will be delivered to your child's class for collection on Friday April 01st.
