We hope you all have a happy and restful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 17th April. Please be aware, the summer term clubs will not start until the following week.
Please note that, as advised would happen at the beginning of the year, the final INSET day has been set for Monday 5th June.
As you will have seen on Twitter, over 100 of our Year 5 pupils have had an amazing time at Kingswood in North Devon. They have tested themselves on the Total Wipeout course, refined their aim on the archery range, been mountain boarding, surfing, climbing and so much more. They will have so many happy memories to share with you.
This week, the Year 5 children who stayed in school have immersed themselves in their theme park project. They have used Google Earth to explore theme parks around the world and get inspiration for their very own theme park: Fantastical Fantasia. They have drawn plans, designed rides and then built these rides.
In addition to all of this, they have still found time for some Easter baking and an Easter egg hunt.
They have a had a fun-packed week.
It's Autism Acceptance Week and all year groups have been thinking about what autism is and how we can be a more inclusive . Year 5 listened to stories from people with autism
Digital leaders from Cheam Common are at Bett2023 today to pitch their project in the final of the Design4SDG design challenge. They have also taken part in the CanopyCIC stand takeover and KidsJudgeBett panel.
Congratulations to this term's Merit Winners who were awarded their Merit Badge and Cheam Common Chocolate Bar in assembly this week. The Merit award is given to a boy and a girl from each class for working consistently hard, persevering and demonstrating our Excellent Learner skills.

Football trials for next season's Sutton United Colts boys teams are starting very soon, so if your son or daughter would like to play for Sutton United, please register your interest below this week!
Sutton United Colts is the grassroots section affiliated with Sutton United Football Club, and has 20 teams playing between the U7 and U16 age groups. Sutton United Colts teams play in the Surrey Youth League on a Sunday morning, and at the competitive age groups, most teams play in the top Premier Elite Division.
The Colts strive to offer the very best standard of football outside of a professional academy environment, and aim to give the players who excel, and want it, a pathway into the professional game.
With that in mind, Colts games are regularly watched by professional academy scouts from the Sutton United Academy, as well as other professional academies from the Premier League, Championship, and beyond.
Trials start soon so register on the link above to avoid disappointment.

SEND & Inclusion Updates!
Young Carers at Cheam Common
At Cheam Common Junior Academy, we hold a weekly small group session to support children across the school who fulfil the role of ‘Young Carer’ because they have a sibling or parent with serious health issues, special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
We want to celebrate the important role our Young Carers play, but also recognise that they may face challenges and pressures not shared by the general school population.
The group meets during assembly time and is led by Mrs Hart.
If you would like your child to take part please complete this form.
If you have any questions about the group, please feel free to contact us at ccjsend@leoacademytrust.co.uk
