Every member of staff at Cheam Common Junior Academy would like to wish our families a safe and happy Christmas. We hope you have a relaxing two weeks off and we will see you on Monday 6th January.
Thank you!
Last week, Cheam Common Junior Academy hosted a Guided Peer Evaluation, where headteachers from our neighbouring boroughs came to visit and observe our school. We are incredibly proud of the report that we received back and some key quotes are included below. You can read the full report here.
'Pupils' behaviours for learning are exceptional.'
'Planning and teaching to deliver this curriculum are of a very high standard. Across the school there are staff who have expert knowledge...'
'There is a strong culture of inclusion in classrooms. Pupils with additional needs do not stand out.'
'The group described leaders as inspirational in all they have achieved.'
‘This is what excellence looks like.’'
Please see below for more information about the Cheam Common Holiday Club,
Children across the school wrote a wishlist of the different books that they would like to see in their library and their classrooms.
We have collated this wishes and have put together an Amazon Wish List, which can be found here. If parents and families wish, there are over a hundred books that children are desperate to read on the list and these can be ordered as a present to our school. Alternatively, if you notice a book on the list that your children no longer read, we are always grateful for any donations!
It has also been suggested by our children that, on a birthday, rather than bringing sweets in for their classmates, children choose a book on the list that they would like to donate to their class. This also falls in line with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. On the order, there is an option to leave a message - you can specify which class the book is for. As ever, we recognise that money can be tight so please note that this is entirely optional. Any support is always appreciated.
Check out what our children have been up to this week at Cheam Common Junior Academy!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
We have loved receiving some fantastic homework this term!
Remember: Each year group's homework matrix can be found in the section below. Completing these tasks is optional but can really help to enrich the children's learning and understanding of these topics.
Check out Harriet (3S)'s incredible piece of Art Homework!
Thank you for your book donations, Priyaan!
