We would like to wish our children and families a safe and happy holidays.
We look forward to welcoming you back on Wednesday 3rd September.
You will now have received confirmation of your child's club allocation for the Autumn Term.
Please note that, with over 500 children on roll, it takes considerable time and effort to ensure that all children get at least one club of their choice. Some children may have received more than one club allocation; this is probably due to them choosing less popular clubs.
Clubs will start from the second week of term, the week commencing Monday 8th September.
One of our wonderful parent volunteers at the Summer Fair explored Match Funding through their employer, and we’re delighted to announce the match funding has come through!
This fantastic achievement simply wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing parental support, from donating raffle prizes and buying tickets, to volunteering at events like the school disco and Summer Fair. Every contribution made a real difference and we are so grateful.
We’re also thrilled to let you know that, thanks to your generosity, we will be completing the Infants Playground Project over the summer. It’s going to be a truly wonderful space for our youngest children to play, learn and grow.
Children across the school wrote a wishlist of the different books that they would like to see in their library and their classrooms.
We have collated this wishes and have put together an Amazon Wish List, which can be found here. If parents and families wish, there are over a hundred books that children are desperate to read on the list and these can be ordered as a present to our school. Alternatively, if you notice a book on the list that your children no longer read, we are always grateful for any donations!
It has also been suggested by our children that, on a birthday, rather than bringing sweets in for their classmates, children choose a book on the list that they would like to donate to their class. This also falls in line with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. On the order, there is an option to leave a message - you can specify which class the book is for. As ever, we recognise that money can be tight so please note that this is entirely optional. Any support is always appreciated.
Check out what our children have been up to this week at Cheam Common Junior Academy!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
We have loved receiving some fantastic homework this term!
Remember: Each year group's homework matrix can be found in the section below. Completing these tasks is optional but can really help to enrich the children's learning and understanding of these topics.
Autumn Term: These will be shared with you in the first week of term.

SEND & Inclusion Updates
Partners including CAMHS, Sutton Local Authority, Education and the Voluntary Community Sector are working with parents/carers to design a pilot to provide early support to families that may have concerns that may be related to Autism or ADHD.
The pilot will aim to provide early support to children and young people with or
without a formal diagnosis.
To make sure this pilot service truly meets the needs of families in Sutton, we would be extremely grateful if you could complete the following short survey:
https://forms.office.com/e/swsnFC9jmK
Your feedback will help to:
Identify gaps in support experienced by parent/carers, ensure that the pilot service is informed by parent/carers and that families receive the help that they need, and improve coordination between services.
The survey should take approximately 15-20 mins to complete; it is open until 23rd June 2025.
If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Diana Salgado, Clinial Service Lead for the Leads Based Model team, through the email:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Update
Help Keep Young People Safe in Our Community!
Please share:
We’re looking for everyday people—shop owners, neighbours, volunteers, parents—who care about young people’s safety and want to make a difference.
What’s a Community Guardian?
A community guardian is a trusted adult who helps look out for young people in the places they spend time—like parks, shops, schools, online spaces, and local neighbourhoods.
You don’t need to be an expert—just someone who’s observant, approachable, and willing to help if something doesn’t feel right.
As a Community Guardian, You Might:
Keep an eye out for signs that a young person might need help
Offer a safe place, like your business or community space, if someone feels unsafe
Build positive relationships with local young people
Help raise awareness about keeping young people safe
Why It Matters
Sometimes, risks to young people happen outside the home. That’s where community guardians come in—offering support and safety in the spaces where young people hang out every day.
Interested in Getting Involved?
We're planning a short training session and will support however you need to help you feel confident. Whether you want to actively participate or just learn more, we’d love to hear from you.
