BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
The Beast of Buckingham Palace by David Walliams
David Walliams is back with a brand-new addition to his growing collection of children’s stories. Filled with his trademark comical humour and over-the-top adventurous antics, ‘The Beast of Buckingham Palace’ is sure to please both old and new fans alike. Unlike his previous books, this is David Walliams first foray into the realms of science fiction and fantasy, which in turn proves to be an unqualified triumph.
Set in the year 2120, Alfred, a young price, has been residing in his palatial home of Buckingham Palace, never knowingly stepping foot into the outside world. However, when a series of spooky and strange goings-on breach the walls and stalk the corridors during the dead of the night, Albert is thrust into a world of mystery, adventures and monsters. As the young monarch overcomes his fears, his mother, the Queen, is dragged and imprisoned within the Tower of London. Suddenly, Albert finds himself in a race against time to pluck up the courage and not only save his mother, battle fantastic monsters hell-bent on destruction but the city that he has never stepped foot in before.
Like all of David Walliams books, ‘The Beast of Buckingham Palace’ is a must-read from start to finish for all the family!
Remember to fill in a book review once you have read a book so that your teacher can stamp your bookmark!
