A reminder that there are no school-run clubs running next week. This also includes GymKidz and JDFS. Jamcoding will be running.
The deadline to sign up for Autumn Term Clubs is Monday 14th July at 4pm. You will have received an email on Tuesday about how to do this.
A huge thank you to all of the children who participated in the Active Citizens Tennis Tournament on Friday afternoon. We managed to raise an amazing £198 in cash on the day.
If you'd like to donate online, you can do so here.
We are delighted to share the news that the children in each cohort, who have undertaken national tests and assessments, have performed well. This includes Year 4 and Year 6.
We are delighted to share that our Year 6 children have performed exceptionally well in this year’s National Curriculum Tests for 11 year olds. The results were published on Tuesday 8th July.
Well done to all of the children. We are exceptionally proud of you and recognise your hard work and perseverance. Thank you to all of the teachers, learning support assistants and parents for your ongoing support for the children.
Entry Queues on the Day:
To help the event run smoothly, we’ll be using a two-queue system:
Pre-Bought Tokens: Queue from Infants' Gate down Kingsmead Avenue towards junior office (faster entry – just hand over tokens)
Cash/Card Payments: Queue from Infants' Gate towards Balmoral Road (may be slower)
Need More Tokens?
You’ll be able to purchase additional tokens inside the fair at the Bar, Cake Stall, and Treat Stall.
This week brought about the end of our Girls' Football season with two important games: the last game of our league season, and the Borough Cup Final.
🏆 Borough Cup Winners 🏆
🏆 Borough League Winners 🏆
We would like to congratulate the girls on an incredible season, and say a huge thank you to Mr Walton, Miss Mills and Miss Russell for their support this year.
In the Spring Term, our Year 5 students helped to plant some fruit and vegetables in our Quiet Area.
We are so proud to announce that we are managing to see our rewards. We have been growing carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, as well as lots of herbs, to try to make our grounds more sustainable, and to improve the biodiversity of our playground.
Our kitchen has used these fruits and vegetables in our school dinners, and we can't wait to continue our growing journey next year.
Children across the school wrote a wishlist of the different books that they would like to see in their library and their classrooms.
We have collated this wishes and have put together an Amazon Wish List, which can be found here. If parents and families wish, there are over a hundred books that children are desperate to read on the list and these can be ordered as a present to our school. Alternatively, if you notice a book on the list that your children no longer read, we are always grateful for any donations!
It has also been suggested by our children that, on a birthday, rather than bringing sweets in for their classmates, children choose a book on the list that they would like to donate to their class. This also falls in line with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. On the order, there is an option to leave a message - you can specify which class the book is for. As ever, we recognise that money can be tight so please note that this is entirely optional. Any support is always appreciated.
Check out what our children have been up to this week at Cheam Common Junior Academy!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
We have loved receiving some fantastic homework this term!
Remember: Each year group's homework matrix can be found in the section below. Completing these tasks is optional but can really help to enrich the children's learning and understanding of these topics.

SEND & Inclusion Updates
Partners including CAMHS, Sutton Local Authority, Education and the Voluntary Community Sector are working with parents/carers to design a pilot to provide early support to families that may have concerns that may be related to Autism or ADHD.
The pilot will aim to provide early support to children and young people with or
without a formal diagnosis.
To make sure this pilot service truly meets the needs of families in Sutton, we would be extremely grateful if you could complete the following short survey:
https://forms.office.com/e/swsnFC9jmK
Your feedback will help to:
Identify gaps in support experienced by parent/carers, ensure that the pilot service is informed by parent/carers and that families receive the help that they need, and improve coordination between services.
The survey should take approximately 15-20 mins to complete; it is open until 23rd June 2025.
If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Diana Salgado, Clinial Service Lead for the Leads Based Model team, through the email:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Update
Help Keep Young People Safe in Our Community!
Please share:
We’re looking for everyday people—shop owners, neighbours, volunteers, parents—who care about young people’s safety and want to make a difference.
What’s a Community Guardian?
A community guardian is a trusted adult who helps look out for young people in the places they spend time—like parks, shops, schools, online spaces, and local neighbourhoods.
You don’t need to be an expert—just someone who’s observant, approachable, and willing to help if something doesn’t feel right.
As a Community Guardian, You Might:
Keep an eye out for signs that a young person might need help
Offer a safe place, like your business or community space, if someone feels unsafe
Build positive relationships with local young people
Help raise awareness about keeping young people safe
Why It Matters
Sometimes, risks to young people happen outside the home. That’s where community guardians come in—offering support and safety in the spaces where young people hang out every day.
Interested in Getting Involved?
We're planning a short training session and will support however you need to help you feel confident. Whether you want to actively participate or just learn more, we’d love to hear from you.
