LEO Story telling Week

Place to be Children's Mental Health Week

This week the children have been busy taking part in Children's Mental Health Week. This year's theme is 'Express Yourself' and so we've been sharing all of the different ways that we express our thoughts and feelings creatively. We've also been keen to try a variety of 'brain breaks' throughout the day to give our minds and eyes a rest! But it's also really important for the grown-ups to take care of their mental health too, so we've found this quiz to help you!

We created a video to share different ways the adults in school have brain breaks. Click here to view the video.

We loved seeing how you all 'expressed yourself' during Children's Mental Health Week. As we are all aware mental health issues are being exacerbated by the current frustrations. The DfE have put together a big list of sources of support to help support mental well being during this time. Click on this link to access the site.

So to celebrate the end of this half term and raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice, we are asking all pyjama wearing families for a donation for this great cause. You can donate via the Just Giving Page here:

Top Tips for keeping your children safe online during lock down

With the new lock down restrictions in place, it’s likely that kids

(and adults!) will continue to spend more time online over the next few

weeks. Whether it’s for school work, connecting with friends or playing

games, Net Aware has everything you need to know to help keep them

safe.

The best way to help keep your children safe online during lock down is

to continue having conversations around online safety, regularly

check phone and app settings together, and manage time online.

But it’s also a challenging time. If you’re usual rules and routines around

online safety have stopped or changed, then be kind to yourself and

think why. It might be that they just don’t work during lock down.

Remember that it’s ok to adapt and make the right changes for your family.

Guidelines

Firstly we wanted to say thank you because you are all doing a fantastic job supporting your children and balancing everyday challenges in these difficult times.

Following the feedback we have received and the workshop last week, we have put together some guidelines for remote learning that we think will help. Click here to view them.

Postcards

We are keen to promote good learning behaviours and motivate children to try their best so this week we are introducing postcards. Teachers will put children's names into a Pot of Gold and select one child from their class a week to receive a postcard.

A brand new website for Inclusion

Last week, LEO launched an inclusion website. It is a great resource where you can look for resources to support your child to learn. Click here to visit it.
