Year 2
Year 2
This week Year 2 have been reading Look up! They then planned, drafted and published a flyer persuading people to attend a meteor shower. The children used their Chromebooks and they used a program called Adobe Spark. We were so pleased with the results we shared some of the flyers on Twitter and the author of the book liked our tweets! As well as others including someone in Miami.

Road Safety Week
This week Key Stage One has been learning about road safety and the importance of being safe during the Winter. For example wearing a coat with reflective parts so when a car light shines on it, it reflects. We also discussed why we have flower beds at the top of our road.

Do you know someone who is thinking of applying for our nursery or reception for 2021 - it may even be you? We have not been able to hold our usual open days/tours and we appreciate this makes choosing a school a difficult decision for families who might not know how wonderful our school community is!

As part of our Christmas celebrations we will be taking part in the St Raphael’s Rudolph Run on Thursday 10th December 2020. The Rudolph Run is a charity event organised by St Raphael’s hospice. It is highly likely that you or someone close to you will know someone who has benefited from the work of this hospice. They provide end of life care and support for families in Merton & Sutton.

The children will receive reindeer antlers and a red nose to wear. The cost of this is £1. It would be great if each child could donate at least £1 to the Just Giving page. A Just Giving page has been set up to collect donations. Please click here to find the page.

Children's reading books
Children's reading books
Please can you return the reading books that are sent home each week as we are running low and unable to send some titles home as these relate to our weekly focus. If you have lost the reading book, please let your class teacher know so we start to create a list of books we need to reorder. If a child does not return 2 or more books in a row, we will not be able to provide them with hard copy books. They will be redirected to Oxford Reading Buddy.
