On Tuesday 12th November, we will be celebrating and taking part in Odd Socks Day! We are looking forward to seeing all of your colourful socks next week as 'Odd Socks Day' marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week.
Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun, however the main focus is to raise awareness of Anti Bullying Week and it is an opportunity to encourage people and children to express themselves whilst expressing their individuality and what makes us all unique!
There is no pressure to wear the latest fashion or to buy expensive costumes. All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks to school on Tuesday 12th November!
Please note that this date has changed to avoid Remembrance Day.
Every year, we support Kingston Hospital and St George's Hospital in our Christmas Pyjama Campaign.
We are collecting donations of pyjamas from generous families throughout November. If you would like to donate, this would be hugely appreciated. Any donations can be handed to class teachers.
Thank you for your support.
Monday 18th November
Next half term for our history learning, the children will be learning all about the world of toys and the role that they play in entertaining us, educating us, and stimulating our imagination. As historians, they will be finding out about the ways in which toys have changed over time. To enhance their learning, we would like the children to participate in an interactive Victorian drama workshop.
After learning some well-known Victorian parlour games, the children will have the opportunity to handle and examine a large selection of wooden, tin and cloth replica toys, to discover how they work and how they are made. Thus bringing their learning to life!
The cost of this workshop is £4.50 per child. We would be grateful if you could make this payment via your Arbor account by 4th November, under the trip section.
LEO Academy Trust is incredibly proud to work in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching as an Associate College to deliver Initial Teacher Training, (ITT) Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) from September 2025. Associate Colleges are successful school trusts, selected because of their wealth of in-house expertise in professional development and their deep relationships in their local areas. This collaboration allows us to be at the forefront of educational excellence, providing local teachers with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth, learning and development. Together, we are shaping the future of teaching and learning, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education.

This is a friendly reminder that Cheam Common Infants' is a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect children with severe nut allergies, which can cause life-threatening reactions.
Please do not send any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes, but is not limited to:
All types of nuts: peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts
Monkey nuts
Chocolate spread (e.g., Nutella, which often contains hazelnuts)
Chocolate filled crepes (e.g., Sainsburys own as these contain hazelnut filling)
Peanut butter
Baked goods that contain nuts or nut flour
Snacks and cereals that may contain nuts or have "may contain" warnings
Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a severe allergic reaction in some children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school a safe environment for all students.
Year 2 have been exploring their new story ‘Look up!’. They have been increasing their creative vocabulary by using adjectives with -er and -est. In maths, Year 2 have started to add two digit numbers to two digit numbers in preparation for next week when they will be moving on to column addition. In Geography, Year went on a scavenger hunt around Worcester Park where they searched for key human features such as shops, houses, churches etc., from their local area. In RE, they have been making diva lamps using clay and salt dough to celebrate Diwali.
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for your book donation.
