This is a friendly reminder that Cheam Common Infants' is a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect children with severe nut allergies, which can cause life-threatening reactions.
Please do not send any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes, but is not limited to:
All types of nuts: peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts
Monkey nuts
Chocolate spread (e.g., Nutella, which often contains hazelnuts)
Chocolate filled crepes (e.g., Sainsburys own as these contain hazelnut filling)
Peanut butter
Baked goods that contain nuts or nut flour
Snacks and cereals that may contain nuts or have "may contain" warnings
Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a severe allergic reaction in some children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school a safe environment for all students.
Here are the lunch options for next week.
You can see Spring Term options here.
Reception have been reading Stickman this week and completing Christmas themed activities. We decorated Christmas trees and stockings and made glittery snowflakes!
Nursery have been learning the Nativity story and have been creating pictures and models. We also had great fun changing the colour of snowballs!
Year One have had a lovely week. The children really enjoyed wearing Christmas jumpers and had a delicious Christmas dinner. It was so lovely to see their excitement as they opened their crackers and told jokes to their friends. It has been a busy week of rehearsing for our nativity play and the children are excited to perform next Tuesday and Wednesday to their grownups. In science the children investigated what material would be best for curtains. They predicted and tested four materials and were able to explain why cotton would be most suitable. In English, they children have explored invitations and have written lovely invitations to the Egg Box Dragon from the Queen. They had to describe what fun games there would be and what yummy food the Queen would have. In Maths the children have continued learning about shape. Finding faces of 3d shapes and sorting them. They have explored and identified 2d shapes using vocabulary ‘a circular has one curved side and no corners. We can’t believe next week is our last week of term!
Year 2 has had a very busy week! The children designed and created their own litter pickers to help keep our community clean. They then evaluated their designs to see how effective they were.
We’ve been exploring the importance of being active. Through observations, we learned about how exercise affects our heart rate and breathing.
We’ve been building our number skills! Students have been practicing column addition and subtraction with renaming, becoming more confident in their calculations.
Get ready to be amazed! Our students have been rehearsing hard for the upcoming nativity performance. We can’t wait to share their talents with you next week.
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for your book donation.
