Cheam Common Infants' Academy is looking for a Midday Supervisor to start ASAP. The hours are 7.08 per week, 1 hour 25 minutes per day, from 11:30 to 12:55. This is a fixed contract until the end of the academic year.
The ideal candidate will be patient and calm by nature, be firm but fair in matters of discipline, be a good role model to the children, and be aware of equal opportunity issues. They must also be able to maintain the confidentiality aspects of the job.
To apply, please refer to this Midday Supervisor - Cheam Common Infants' Academy.
This is a friendly reminder that Cheam Common Infants' is a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect children with severe nut allergies, which can cause life-threatening reactions.
Please do not send any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes, but is not limited to:
All types of nuts: peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts
Monkey nuts
Chocolate spread (e.g., Nutella, which often contains hazelnuts)
Chocolate filled crepes (e.g., Sainsburys own as these contain hazelnut filling)
Peanut butter
Baked goods that contain nuts or nut flour
Snacks and cereals that may contain nuts or have "may contain" warnings
Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a severe allergic reaction in some children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school a safe environment for all students.
Nursery explored shapes this week, and had a lot of fun getting hands on in Maths.
Reception have also been learning about numbers 1-5 and spotted the staircase pattern when building towers of numbers! We also got creative and designed and made handbags!
Reception have been learning about Space! A rocket crash landed in our garden and we wrote posters to inform everyone!
We have had a busy week in Year 1 as we have introduced all our new subjects for this Spring Term. The children really enjoyed exploring their senses in science, especially tasting food that was sour, salty and sweet. It was very funny watching them eat a piece of lemon! In R.E they thought about their families and how special they were to them. In English we have begun our new book Halibut Jackson. The children wrote some lovely character descriptions of the shy boy who likes to camouflage himself. They tried really hard to write smaller and neater in their ‘new’ books with thin lines. In Maths the children have been learning about addition, they are learnt new vocabulary addends, expressions and sum. They have made us very proud as they have made equations using the expression + and = to solve addition. What a busy week it's been!
It has been a very cold start to the year. Please ensure hats, scarves and gloves are clearly labelled.
Year 2 has had a fantastic start to the new term! The children have been enthusiastically exploring materials in science. Each class created a sustainable sculpture of ‘Leo the Lion’ by reusing recycled materials. We then investigated different household objects, identifying which materials they were made from, and how the properties of the materials made them good for the purpose of the product.
We have begun our history learning about how transport has changed over time. The children were amazed at how different bicycles and cars looked in the past. We created a timeline of vehicle inventions to develop their understanding of chronological order and the progression of technology.
Well done Year 2 for all your hard work this week.
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for your book donation.
