This is a friendly reminder that Cheam Common Infants' is a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect children with severe nut allergies, which can cause life-threatening reactions.
Please do not send any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes, but is not limited to:
All types of nuts: peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts
Monkey nuts
Chocolate spread (e.g., Nutella, which often contains hazelnuts)
Chocolate filled crepes (e.g., Sainsburys own as these contain hazelnut filling)
Peanut butter
Baked goods that contain nuts or nut flour
Snacks and cereals that may contain nuts or have "may contain" warnings
Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a severe allergic reaction in some children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school a safe environment for all students.
Here are the lunch options for next week.
In Nursery we have been learning about the celebration of Christmas and discussed our family traditions. We practised using talk partners to share our ideas! We’ve also been enjoying Christmas themed activities.
In Reception we have carried on learning about The Gingerbread Man. We created new characters for the story and had lots of fun using our Tales Toolkit skills to re-tell the story using our own characters. We’ve also changed our role play areas into Christmas themed play spaces!
Year One have had a busy week practising for their Christmas production. They have really enjoyed being a designer and making their final product a slide. They had to think carefully about how they were going to anchor the slide and make sure it is balanced and stable for a little character to slide down. The children really enjoyed investigating what materials would make the best umbrella in Science.
In Maths the children have been exploring tangrams, pentominoes and tetrominoes. They had lots of fun making and shapes from these shapes. In English we have begun our new book ‘Egg Box Dragon’ and we were very proud of their character descriptions. What a busy week!
This week, Year 2 students put their engineering skills to the test! They designed and drew litter pickers, applying their understanding of lever mechanisms. Their detailed diagrams and colorful designs showcased their creativity and attention to detail.
Year 2 students have been honing their map reading skills in geography. They learned to use coordinates to pinpoint the location of animals on a zoo map,
In English, Year 2 students have been crafting heartfelt letters to the beloved Blue Crayon. Their letters express gratitude and appreciation for this colourful companion, demonstrating their writing skills and imaginative thinking.
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for your book donation.
