Please find attached any important festive dates for December, including a link to sign your child up for Christmas lunch.
Every year, we support Kingston Hospital and St George's Hospital in our Christmas Pyjama Campaign.
We are collecting donations of pyjamas from generous families throughout November. If you would like to donate, this would be hugely appreciated. Any donations can be handed to class teachers.
Thank you for your support.
Monday 18th November
Next half term for our history learning, the children will be learning all about the world of toys and the role that they play in entertaining us, educating us, and stimulating our imagination. As historians, they will be finding out about the ways in which toys have changed over time. To enhance their learning, we would like the children to participate in an interactive Victorian drama workshop.
After learning some well-known Victorian parlour games, the children will have the opportunity to handle and examine a large selection of wooden, tin and cloth replica toys, to discover how they work and how they are made. Thus bringing their learning to life!
The cost of this workshop is £4.50 per child. We would be grateful if you could make this payment via your Arbor account by 4th November, under the trip section.
LEO Academy Trust is incredibly proud to work in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching as an Associate College to deliver Initial Teacher Training, (ITT) Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) from September 2025. Associate Colleges are successful school trusts, selected because of their wealth of in-house expertise in professional development and their deep relationships in their local areas. This collaboration allows us to be at the forefront of educational excellence, providing local teachers with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth, learning and development. Together, we are shaping the future of teaching and learning, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education.

This is a friendly reminder that Cheam Common Infants' is a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect children with severe nut allergies, which can cause life-threatening reactions.
Please do not send any food items containing nuts to school with your child. This includes, but is not limited to:
All types of nuts: peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts
Monkey nuts
Chocolate spread (e.g., Nutella, which often contains hazelnuts)
Chocolate filled crepes (e.g., Sainsburys own as these contain hazelnut filling)
Peanut butter
Baked goods that contain nuts or nut flour
Snacks and cereals that may contain nuts or have "may contain" warnings
Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a severe allergic reaction in some children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school a safe environment for all students.
Year One really loved dressing up for Children in Need and they enjoyed some fun activities, as they learnt about how children are supported. This week, Year One particularly enjoyed Design Technology learning and exploring stable and unstable structures. They were very excited watching their towers fall down and were taught how to make a stable base. The children proudly made and showed their friends their stable structures. In Maths, the children have been exploring number lines and identifying 7 is nearest to 10 than 0. They have also been partitioning numbers 6-10. In English the children have enjoyed listening to the whole story of Lost in the toy museum and have been using tales toolkit to write the setting. It was so lovely to meet you all at parents' evening and we hope you were proud of their wonderful work.
This week Year 2 have been developing their map skills in Geography. They really enjoyed exploring atlases, globes and Google earth for the features of maps. Then had a wonderful time using Google earth to find their homes, school and other features of the local area. In Science they have been comparing the similarities and differences of the life cycles of chickens and butterflies. They correctly identified that ‘’Both lay eggs but chickens do not have to go through metamorphosis!’’ Fabulous use of key vocabulary this week Year 2, well done!
Polite reminder...
As you know, we are a healthy school and therefore ask if your child would like to celebrate their birthday, they donate a book to a library instead of bringing treats. This also ensures there are no concerns over allergies.
Happy birthday! Thank you for your book donation.
