The Power-Up Teaching and Learning Series is a 3 year series designed to meet the needs of new teachers or teachers that may just be looking for some new tools/resources for the classroom. Each course also has an emphasis on integrating technology use and tools in the classroom.

Topics discussed: Effective Communication, Learning Environment, Meaningful Data, Digital Leadership, and Curriculum and Content.

SCECHs = 14+ per year with possibility of in classroom coaching.

Year 3 will open for registration in January

OUtcomes

  • Understand the elements of communication.

  • Identify barriers in communication and how to limit or eliminate them.

  • Develop strategies to communicate effectively with parents and students.

  • Explore how physical classroom design can foster creativity and learning.

  • Understand components of learning environment design.

  • Design a learning environment where ALL students feel welcome and encouraged to learn.

  • Understanding of the various types of data sources.

  • Understanding how data supports academic and social growth.

  • Understand the meaning of digital citizenship.

  • Examine the elements and guiding principles of digital citizenship.

  • Explore digital citizenship lessons for the classroom.

  • Understanding the critical components of a Curriculum.
