Jake Malik was a member of several successful Bulldog teams. Jake Malik was a member of a state runner up team in 2017, Jake won the Class 1A singles championship that season the only singles state champion in program history.
Kyle Marek was a 3 year letter winner, Kyle placed 6th at the 2016 Class 1A Doubles Tournament with his partner Thomas Harvey. Following that finish, he returned to the individual tournament in 2017 with Jake Thompson earning a 4th place finish in doubles. Kyle was a part of a successful run of Bulldog Tennis teams including a 3rd place finish in 2015, and state runner-up finishes in 2016 and 2017.
Marek is one of a handful of Bulldogs to earn Academic All-State Honors, which he won in 2016-2017.
Mike Ahlers had an oustanding career as a Bulldog. Coming from a family of tennis players, he made his mark in the Bulldog Tennis program. He finished 7th place in singles in 2010 and followed up in 2011 with a 6th place finish. Mike was a part of a 2011 final four team--one of the best teams in Le Mars history.
A 4 year varsity member of Bulldog Tennis, Zach laid a foundation for the future and racked up numerous accomplishments during his career as a Bulldog.
He qualified for the singles state tournament in 2018, where he earned an 8th place finish, and in 2019 where he earned a 7th place finish. He was a member of the 2016 and 2017 state runner up teams, and the 2019 final four team. In addition to his outstanding achievements on the courts, Zach earned Academic All State Honors in 2018-2019.
Following in the footsteps of his older brother, but charting his own course, Kaden Wingert's impact on the program will be felt for years to come.
A 3 year letter winner (due to Covid cancelling the 2020 season), Kaden was a part of a final four team in 2019. In 2021, he was a member of the state qualifying team, and took home 7th place in the Class 1A individual state tournament.
This doubles tandem caused havoc for any opponent they faced. In 2001, they earned a state runner up finish in doubles, and remain the highest finishers in program history in doubles.
Dylan Harms was a member of 3 final four teams, including the 2nd and 3rd state runner up teams. In 2015 he was the 6th place finisher with his doubles partner, Matt Ellefson. He followed that up with a 6th place state singles finish in 2016.
Matt Ellefson had a successful tennis career at Le Mars. Matt was a member of a team that earned a third place state finish and a team that earned a runner up finish at state.
In 2015 he earned a 6th place finish in doubles with his partner, Dylan Harms.
Tim Claussen was member of the Bulldogs from 2003-2006. Tim was a 4 time state qualifier in singles with two 7th places finishes. He finished his career with a record of 106 wins and 17 losses. The 106 wins stands as the most in school history. Tim continued his tennis career at Simpson College.
