STELPFLUG AWARD WINNERS

(In Memory of Denny Stelpflug)

As a young boy Denny was stricken with polio and as a result, he had to learn to live with many disabilities. This never seemed to dampen his spirit or affect his wonderful sense of humor. His love for sports was well known by everyone, especially his close friend Paul Olson, who arranged for him to help broadcast the bulldog basketball games, something he enjoyed so much. It was said of Denny, “To know him was to admire him, to know him well was to know the true meaning of courage.” The Stelpflug award is presented each year to a senior who has showed outstanding sportsmanship and courage on and off the court.
