While we use Adobe software for editing at school, students do not have access at home. Here are some free options:

Avid Media Composer First- Avid is the leading editing software used for most Hollywood films and has recently released a free version you can use on your home Windows PC or Mac.

Black Magic Design's DaVinci Resolve offers their full blown professional editing software for free! There is also a Pro Version with professional features I doubt you'd even miss. DaVinci Resolve has been a heavy hitter and standard as far as a color correction software for Hollywood films, but have evolved into a full blown editing software in recent years.

Lightworks for Windows Free version is limited, though a new version was just released in March 2020

HitFilm Express - the free version of the pro software...tons of special effects included with this free version. Lots of tutorials are availabel.

Openshot - Many free options of special effects and more.
