Last week, we travelled back in time to Scutari Hospital in 1854, where we learnt all about the incredible Florence Nightingale and her team of nurses, who cared for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War.
This week in English, we have been busy writing our own historical recounts. We have worked incredibly hard to use a wide range of exciting vocabulary, making sure our writing is interesting and engaging for the reader.
Starling Class have amazed us with just how much they now know about Florence Nightingale and her important work. We are so proud of their fantastic writing and enthusiasm!
We have travelled back in time to the Crimean War over the last 2 weeks.
Our History and English learning has combined to focus on Florence Nightingale and her story. Today, we have loved transforming our hall into the Scutari Hospital that we have read about in our book 'Vlad and the Florence Nightingale Adventure'.
What a wonderful first week in Starlings!
We have had lots of time to get used to our new teachers, friends and classroom. Our English lessons have been very exciting; thinking about our summer holidays. We had to plan and write a recount on something exciting that we did over summer. How lovely they have been to read!
